For information only - "Team Protocol v6" updated for v1.11.02 onwards
We no longer use day/night missions but instead set air group range to one to stop air groups flying

On rare occasions we have organised team meetings where all commit to be online at the same time to talk. From experience I have started to make sure that
- there is a small agenda of items to discuss
-lasts no more than an hour strictly

This time we had more things to talk about than usual
- are we happy or not continuing in our roles in this game? if not any other roles we want to try?
- should we be talking more?
- blizzard plans and 1942 objectives
- do we need an air commander?
- management of a strategic reserve

I attach some of the discussion as it signalled a move to functional commands in 1942. But the team changes that came out were
- timmyab joined the Axis team as Chief of Staff
- Xhoel joined as our new Axis team air commander
- from Apr 1942 there would be a Panzer commander and an Infantry commander
Personally I have no idea how the split between a panzer commander and infantry commander would work. But it was a ground commander led thing they were very enthusiastic about so I was happy to run with it and let them work it out.
It remains an interesting question for team games how much they can organise by function rather than geography.

As usual everyone in both teams was messaged so that everyone knew who all the players in the game were and what they did.

because of lack of recon, I can't even speculated where the enemy is amazing its armor, my best guesses are Stalino and Moscow.

the 2 Mountain divisions remain in Rostov, along with 2 of the 3 Light Infantry divisions, as well with several Romanian Mountain brigades, it seams they intent to fight me here for every hex all the way to Stalino, the good news, Center and North can rest easy knowing they will fight regular weak infantry.

12 Panzer has been parked in Kalinin since turn 17!

When rail repair gets there it will be railed away and split to regiments to garrison cities in the rear and winter.

I make it 5 Panzers. 12 Panzer division is not there but two others not next to the enemy are around Voroshilovgrad.

This causes some confusion the following turn as airgroups sent to National Reserve last turn have to be changed from flying both day and nights (in line with the patch change) this turn and cannot then be deployed

turn 24, I've ordered the creation of 7 IAD (fighter regiments), it does coast 7 ap, but we can always use more IAD
Yak-1 production is racking up, the Axis has given up it's strategic bombing, meaning it will expand to 75 production fast.
the Lagg-3 is keeping up with demand, and we will get more and more lend lease aircraft to help out
and for a short period, we can still rely on old airframes until production catches up
maybe we should just build UP TO 200 IAD for now.

In regards to Light transports:
we unfortunately lost the Li-2 (long range) transport, this was our main and only production of this type and we lost all factories! (edited)
its painfully ironic, we saved the full 22 Pe-2 factory from Moscow when we have an abundance of level bombers but not even ONE factory of the precious transport?
but what is done is done. the U2-transports is a bit hard to use, since it's max range is 14 hexes. its needs to be carefully planed. but it's plentiful and we can endure losses. because of its low cargo capacity, it needs to be used on mass to be effective.

...we at least build like 20 light transports first to help with supply issues

The Soviet Supreme Commander wants to join the Connect 4 team game where it is obligatory to join discord and be on the channels for all. So having to join discord they finally turn up in the 2x3+ channels in spite of their worries of being tracked by the CIA

But one of the first acts is to ask to take back the final save of turn 24 to do it again.




This would not be possible in a server game. The Soviet team has asked for this more than once and the Axis team has always agreed.

Real life is the curse of the Gaming class.

Actually been slowing down just now because we have actually speeded up ...

We have the luxury now of writing the AAR far behind the actual turn the game is on. Which has meant it has been fine to share screenshots and draft text for the AAR across teams. So increasingly we have been swapping quotes from players on one team to go with the screenshots and write ups posted by the other team, as well as sharing some of the graphics work for each side too.

Looking to the blizzard turns coming up we thought it would make more sense to take each geographical area (North, Centre, South) and write a section for them for all the turns of the blizzard. We did this a bit already for the mud and snow turns taken together a bit .This seemed to work better than showing what happened in every area together for one turn, then the same for the other side, and then back to your side for the next turn. But this has to some extent meant writing out the AAR for the whole blizzard for the other side to weave in their posts and then the other to edit theirs in response and so on iteratively. Luckily there was a slow down in the actual game during the christmas/ new year period which allowed us to do a lot of the blizzard AAR write up. So we now have almost all of it in a ready enough state to know there will only be minor edit changes. We think this would make more sense to readers of the AAR. But there is a chance it would leave you even more confused! But while we have two teams co-operating on writing an AAR together this seems like the best chance ever to try it.

Zorch has to take some credit for encouraging us to publish this AAR rather than leave all the screenshots and notes we had taken from the game to be lost sometime forever. But it is very good to know that this is of interest to others and that it is being read!
