Reading some of the posts lately, I've been seeing comments like "I played the campaign last weekend". While I realise that some campaigns may have as few as three encounters, based on my own, albeit limited, experience this still seems like an extraordinary feat. For me, a single battle (scenario) can take me anywhere from about an hour and a half to well over five! For a large scenario, I can easily spend an hour at the start just looking at the map and assessing my units.
What I'd like to know, from those who have been at this longer than I,
is how much time do you spend on individual battles? What would be an average time for small/large battles? How long was the longest battle you've played? (PBEM players need not apply :) ) Do you find that with more experience, you play faster? And finally, after learning how it's done, does playing with C&C on speed up things?
I'm just curious to see if my three to four hour average is par for the course, and whether it's likely to get much quicker :)
