Oh another update already!

That last information panel is a cliffhanger cause I don't know if the Factory finally was secured by the Germans.

Factory was finally secured by the Germans:

No, the Germans still did not have full control of the Barrikady industrial complex. However, every day the pressure became more intense and the Russians were losing ground, despite their tenacity.

I wonder if either side was able to bake bread in that famous bread factory while the battle ground onwards?

That sounds like a fun battle. Sounds like the Germans were doing the same style as the Russians by relying mostly on squads of submachine gunners and using grenades.

Exact.
In this scenario it is recommended to play with the Germans, with odds 1:1. You can win but you only have 6 turns to do it. You have to play with a lot of aggressiveness.

Ouch 6 turns. Usually my troops are just finishing their pre-battle meal and checking their weapons by the 6th turn. Okay well maybe not that slow. I'm not used to strict time limits except in Panzer Corps but their turn limits are almost always the amount of time I need or even 2 or 3 extra turns left after I do all the objectives.

In the boardgame are there turn limits?

I think you give your troops very well to eat. I do not think that's good. In Stalingrad the Russians and Germans went a lot of hungry.

In boardgames there are both cases. But if you ask for ASL, yes. In the games that try to emulate ASL they maintain that criterion of limiting turns. It has its logic. The designers of Avalon Hill calculated that each turn was equivalent to 3 minutes of real combat. So, 6 turns are, in reality, 20 minutes of combat. The soldiers are not shooting at the enemy all day. A real combat is very intense but short. As the clock progresses, the forces and initial impulse are reduced.

I often wondered from reading about battles, why are attacks almost always done at first light of dawn when the assault itself only takes a small part of a day. I know armies try to surprise each other by attacking early but they always are fully aware of that pattern so it's not a surprise and just means everyone is tired and hungry. I would do attacks at noon or afternoon so everyone is fully fed and rested and had time for a game of tennis and to do preparations.

First information panel for Barrikady West scenario

Small error: The guy the Tractor Works were named after is simply Dzerzhinsky.

I remember his name because the man was exceptionally infamous; he was the founder of the Cheka:
The Cheka soon became notorious for mass summary executions, performed especially during the Red Terror and the Russian Civil War.
The Cheka undertook drastic measures as thousands of political opponents and saboteurs were shot without trial in the basements of prisons and in public places.
Dzerzhinsky said: "We represent in ourselves organized terror—this must be said very clearly," and
"[The Red Terror involves] the terrorization, arrests and extermination of enemies of the revolution on the basis of their class affiliation or of their pre-revolutionary roles."

The Moscow Soviet (Mossovet) had the Dzerzhinsky statue removed to the Fallen Monument Park and laid on its side in August 1991,
after the failed coup d'état attempt by hard-line Communist members of the government.

Ouch! I have a toothache and laughing so hard hurts! I completely agree with your leisurely approach to Blitzkrieg. Most of my favourite games are either Meeting Engagements where one side destroys the other long before time runs out, as in FoG2 or P&S, or 4X like Civ4 wth 500 turns -you only have to make sure no one builds the Spaceship first. But this Mod looks so brilliant I´ll give it a try, despite the stress!

I did not know the etymology of the term "Cheka", but what you explain is very plausible.

Vserossiyskaya chrezvychaynaya komissiya = "Ve-Che-Ka" = Cheka
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cheka
"A member of Cheka was called a chekist.
Also, the term chekist often referred to Soviet secret police throughout the Soviet period, despite official name changes over time.
In The Gulag Archipelago, Alexander Solzhenitsyn recalls that zeks in the labor camps used old chekist as a mark of special esteem for particularly experienced camp administrators."

Hello sIg3b.

It's possible, but you still have not seen everything ...

The designers of the game recommend that the amount of 200 units should not be exceeded, in order not to cause the processor of the computer to reduce its performance alarmingly.

If I remember correctly, there is a Scenario (or two) with 197 units.
It is war!

Sorry sIg3b for not having corrected the error that you had detected in the first panel of Barrikady West. I had simply forgotten.
Below you can see the corrected version. You can download it directly and replace the JPG file in the Panels folder, as always.
The corrected panel is already included in the Core but is still not available. The reason is that I hope to include all the errata detected and make a new version of the Core.
