What's the min hex scale? 2.5km? Or can it go down to 100m, for example? Are there scenarios with that kind of tactical level scale? Thanks.

This is Top Secret (didn't make it into the manual):

Hexscales have been expanded to include: 0.25km, 0.5km, 1km, 100km, and 200km.

Time scales have been expanded to include: 1 hour, 3 hours, 2 weeks, full month, seasonal, and annual.

These are all still sort of "experimental", and got a minimum of check out. So expect a few issues at first.

I designed one scenario that uses 0.25km hexes and 1 hour turns: Shiloh 1862.

There are several steps between 2,5 km und 50 km if i remember correctly. Smaller scales are not possible.

Thanks both. Conflicting info. Curtis says 0.25km possible.

Curtis is one of the developers, so listen to him. :) The extension of the scale he wrote about was a last minute addition we managed to pull off, that's why it is not mentioned by the manual.

Yeah, Curtis obviously is right . Nice to know that the scope of the game still keeps expanding.

That is a huge change!

The scope it brings to the game is boggling!

maybe an idea to put that in his sig then, and for one i had no idea, so i'd guess most other won't either, i for one don't mind debating a point with another user on any given point or subject, but to not know who was a developer and have a debate with them, is another thing, or i may not have been so, looking for the right word,

googles one that fits

controvert, maybe

or at least contentious with multiple replies

but none of these fits perfectly either, so maybe i was just an @se

If you're suggesting that I replace my magnificent Curtis Lemay avatar with one of those dufus "Staff" avatars, I'd rather die.

Well, when an apparent newbie (18 posts) contradicts an old timer (10002 posts) then I would tend to go with the old timer regardless of any identifying medals, lines or avatars.

And Bob, I use the term 'old' with the utmost respect.

So at .25 and .5 and 1 K there is line of sight rules in the game now? That would mean at 250 meters per hex some units could shoot quite a few hexes in WWII and a heck of a long ways in modern scenarios.

Boy this is interesting!

Only by house rule.

I already answered this in post #2.
