INVADED
Taung Gyi are invested.

CHANGED OWNERSHIP

Overall

• CV Saratoga and BB Washington at Alameda are at +/- 2 months for repairs, including current upgrades for Washington. Old battleships at San Francisco are both repairing and upgrading. One is already on the way to Pearl Harbor and two more will be ready in a couple of weeks. Within a month plus transit time we'll have 2 more Essex CV's and three CVL and about a dozen new destroyers available for duty.

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii

• 5 more days for Hornet. What her availability will allow us to do is rotate carriers on station for replenishment.

Pacific

• Cat and mouse with their subs and our carriers.

• DD Nepal with her escort is limping 1 hex per day toward Calcutta. We are beefing up our carrying capacity on the Calcutta to Akyab route in the coming weeks. Also in the next few weeks 3x fighter, 1x 2EB, and 4x 4EB of USA will ship in from Cape Town and begin operations. Somewhat sooner a USA P-47D2 squadron will ship in from Aden and deploy to Akyab. I can't say about the next Imperial sweep but before long the skies will be most inhospitable to intruders. Supply availability in Burma continues to climb, the weak spot being Bhamo (as expected). Bhamo is undeveloped with fortifications only (level 3) and currently a daily supply max of 150. The troops there get hit hard from the air daily, and while an AA unit is on the way to induce them to stop low-level strikes, the supply situation will remain bad until we can expand the base (because supply to units at a friendly base can only be supplied by that base, not other bases). I think after we get greater CAP in place at Akyab we will begin occasional battleship bombardments of Ramree Island. The objective is partly misdirection as I plan to mostly bypass Burma, partly to attrite the exposed 9,400 troops there, and partly to place additional pressure on the Empire's supply in Burma.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• No contacts. A group of 8 more subs is leaving Midway for patrol in these waters.

Complete combat report attached.

INVADED
Taung Gyi are invested.

CHANGED OWNERSHIP

Overall

• Lots of shuttling of forces needed now. Crikey!

West Coast USA, Alaska, Hawaii

• Pearl Harbor getting quite busy now as a hub for the forward area rather than just a dead end depot and a repair yard.

Pacific

• We have a tiny submarine cadre in this area compared with recently.

• Kusaie is not garrisoned by the enemy. When our troops are in position we will likely para drop onto it, then bring in engineers to start building a base to support operations against Ponape and Truk.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

• We are playing with the convoy configuration at Cooktown to see if we can get the radars unloaded on that small pier (size 1). No trouble beyond search planes so far.

• Suddenly, meaning without us noticing the movement, the Japanese have 7 units at Bhamo. We will shift the 4EB to this target plus move a ready (in strat mode and with '43 squads upgrade) Indian Infantry division to Myitkyina. The C-46's at Ledo will shift from landing supply at Myitkyina to dropping it at Bhamo. Recon has been reallocated.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• We will keep steadily increasing our sub presence in this area of operations. A little more than 2 months from now our subs will upgrade to photon torpedoes.

Our flak in Burma is strong and getting stronger with better supply. The low fliers striking targets at Bhamo are still strongly opposed despite the now reduced supply level of the AA unit there.

You will need to get your engineers to figure out how to hide the rocket motor bright wake. The IJ ship skippers are not as dumb as Cardassians (or is that Khardassians?).

One contact which did not result in a battle looks sure to be a convoy: one escort seen plus five other ships.

Cardassians are smart. Khardassians are stupid, I will not state more as some people might object.

You will need to get your engineers to figure out how to hide the rocket motor bright wake. The IJ ship skippers are not as dumb as Cardassians (or is that Khardassians?).

Cardassians are smart. Khardassians are stupid, I will not state more as some people might object.

I cannot think of any grounds for objection ...

• It will be about a week before the reinforcement division arrives at Bhamo, meanwhile supplies are improving with the direct drop by all C-46 and C-47 transport aircraft in theater. Productive strike at Lashio as the estimated 177 fighters seen there yesterday were knocked back. Recon now shows 51 fighters there. I'm guessing ready aircraft transferred to other bases. We own the rail path so the airframes remaining on the ground are there for the picking.

That sub attack on Soryu was shown as being near Shanghai. Why would they go to HK for repairs instead of Shanghai?
