I've let out a contract with M&M Enterprises for a Quonset Horton's. They are providing their own transportation.

Excellent coffee, much better than Starsux.

So the Madras Peelers are going to keep an eye on the native girls?

• Agrihan airfield is almost built to capacity (5), while Almagan is rapidly building toward size 2. Anatahan is quickly building toward port size 2.

• We have 3 groups of dive bombers operating out of Pagan to supplement the 2EB, and their 1,000 pound bombs are beginning to score. Just barely, but it's a start. They are bombing from 5,000 ft to avoid low altitude AA fire.

• The assault at Saipan is ordered for tomorrow. The additional troops will land to provide their distraction. The dive bombers have been ordered to 10,000 ft tomorrow so they dive bomb for more accuracy. Keep your fingers crossed.

• We smacked the aircraft at Uttaradit airfield, including those torpedo bombers flying nightly runs against Ramree Island. It looks like they have withdrawn by rail.

• The tank unit only assault was OK, but we still took more infantry squad casualties than I wanted. The 38th Division must be close to exiting the hex, so I am going to send most of the tank units through Prome to the next hex, leaving only enough for security.

• Toungoo declared allegiance as soon as our troops arrived. The British 2nd Division is already on trains at Meiktila and should arrive at Toungoo tomorrow, as will two base forces.

• The last enemy unit, a full division, has moved out of Taung Gyi and our troops will seize the place tomorrow.

• Richelieu will be ready to depart for the US East Coast in about 2 days. Queen Elizabeth might be at Chittagong for a couple of months to repair systems damage before setting out for Colombo, but one month at least.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• Still quiet.

Damage is 58-18(18)-28(11)-0, plus a number of devices knocked out.

I want to get that system damage down to make movement to Colombo safer.

• This time we got a fortification reduction, and actually achieved 1 to 1 odds thanks to a big jump in final AV. Keep in mind that nearly 300 AV just landed and did not participate. While our casualties were high they were lower than the first assault. Enemy casualties were a bit less than double those incurred during the first assault.

• It will take at least 3 days to get disruption down enough for the next assault, but a few days longer to raise AV is in order too.

• A large convoy is unloading support units at Anatahan.

• Base sizes in the Marianas (our bases: port + airfield).
Agrihan: 2(0); 4(2) + 97%
Pagan: 4(1); 5(2)
Almagan: 2(0); 1(1) + 80%
Anatahan: 1(0); 0(2) + 61%

• Manado looks as though it has been evacuated except for an AV in port.

• We have an APA convoy unloading significant support units at Watampone. The two CVE TF are moving in hex to better provide CAP as the convoy has been spotted. The carriers have not been spotted.

• Although supplies are short we have moved 5x 12-plane Chinese Air Force P-40N squadrons into Toungoo to start bombing the enemy still between Prome and Toungoo.

• We captured both Taung Gyi and Toungoo with fortifications. Unlike with storage capacity for supplies and fuel, fortification level does increase the daily cap of supply which can be received overland.

• An RN Base Force is loading at Calcutta to be ferried to Ramree Island to improve operations there.

• One interesting development, at least one enemy unit at Moulmein is heading NE. Even if just moving to the next wooded position to defend an additional river crossing, that does mean the Empire will stand at Moulmein.

Can you bring in Naval Support and an AR to help the Queen?

There is naval support there. I could bring an AR in from Colombo. I'm not sure how much time that would shave, but it's worth a shot. I only want to repair enough damage at Chittagong to make the journey to Colombo safer.

BTW, Richelieu will be ready at Colombo tomorrow but given her very high major floatation damage level I will wait for that last point or two of systems damage to be repaired before sending her off.

I think that it would save a lot of time and as long as the AR is not otherwise needed and can travel relatively safely to the Queen, I would do that.

Cruisers and destroyers are repairing at Colombo now, but there are multiple ARs present.

Ops points on the TFs after they reload might be part of it. The port at Pagan is much busier now than before.

• The Empire pulled off a nice CAP trap over Saipan, taking advantage of us maximizing our bomber sorties at the expense of sweeps. A bunch of Ki-84a Frank flew into Guam during the night and were waiting over Saipan. Recon shows the fighters always seen at Babeldaob are missing.

• Troops on Saipan recovering well. The units which just landed are the worst off for their experience wading to shore. Perhaps two more days, we'll see.

• Almagan airfield is now size 2 and 2EB will begin strikes from their tomorrow.

New Zealand, Australia, New Caledonia, New Hebrides, Solomons, Papua New Guinea, New Britain

• The B-29-1 at Darwin will make their first raid, on Babeldaob airfield to make it inhospitable to returning Franks. 111 Super-fortresses are assigned at normal bomb load range, 20x 500 pound bombs each.

Making progress on several fronts - hard for the Japanese to stop it now.

I notice your subs have not had much luck hitting his small escorts (PBs, Es, SCs) for a while. Maybe they gained experience or have a better DL on your subs so they don't surprise them as much?

Maybe. Those are all ASW encounters. It's not terribly often I am finding convoys. I'm going to surge a bunch of subs soon into the East China Sea and the waters on both sides of Formosa.

• More Franks destroyed on the ground at Babeldaob. We've lost two B-29 in the two days for 20-some Franks, but the real trade off is in protecting the aircraft in the Marianas.

• Anatahan port is now size 2, on to building the airfield for now.

• The troops at Saipan are looking pretty good. Only the newly landed combat engineer regiment has Disruption in double digits, so I changed the leader. AV is 1,601, only a few units have Fatigue in double digits, and supply in hex is 175,000 tons.

• 1,628 AV on Saipan, and only 3 units have Fatigue in double digits. The new combat Eng Rgt is 22, the others just 11 and 10. I will give one or two more days for AV to rise more. AV rose by 27 from last turn, so maybe we can get over 1,680 by waiting two more days.

• There is an enemy convoy of small ships heading SE on a course that would bring it just south past Guam, so it's either bringing supplies for the Marianas or Truk. 15 hexes from Guam, we'll intercept it in 2 or 3 days. The additional carriers (new/repaired) just pulled into Pagan as CV-6, with Wasp, Bunker Hill, Intrepid, and (CVL) San Jacinto, so they will make the intercept.

• The pursuit toward Rangoon is on.

• Likewise we will try to trap and destroy the units still between Prome and Toungoo.

• We have many units in Toungoo and on the way there. The enemy position just SW in jungle-rough terrain might be hard to crack but it's unclear how committed the Empire is to that position.

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

• Lots of activity but no main IJN units seen lately.

Bases with 0(0) port will not show naval support, if I remember correctly. If the airbase is also 0(0) then where are the aviation support people going to hang out? At the Lo Cal bar?

Its a bug that will not be fixed - NS is useless on an SPS (0) port. AS is not affected.

• I forgot to record the AV at Saipan yesterday, but now it is 1,392 which I think is a significant jump. I think it was low 1,300's. Disruption and Fatigue dropped a great deal. I would love to get 1,600 AV for the next assault, but 1,500 is a bare minimum.

• Tomorrow we activate 4 more dive bomber squadrons against Saipan defenses.

• Assault at Manado tomorrow, with the B-29 cloud assisting. (Evil Grin)

• Several more days before the Rgt marches to Kendari.

• We will see about sweeping those Tony's over Balikpapan tomorrow.

Philippines

China

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina

• It's still unclear if the Empire will defend Rangoon or if they are just holding the door open fir withdrawing troops. Either way, the day after tomorrow we will be able to make an assault on the two divisions plus that are nearing Rangoon. Our B-24 cloud has been hitting them from the air with effect and certainly slowing their movement.

• It will be a few more days before we have enough in place SW of Toungoo to make an assault there. It's possible the enemy units will be gone by then.

• The artillery units pushed into the open NE of Prome will be hit by a Chinese Army dicision crossing the river in 2 more days. Now they are being hit with great effect by CAF P-40N squadrons.

• Sadly the 4x AR at Chittagong have not increased the speed of repairs on Queen Elizabeth at all.

The Queen should be at pier side, not repair ship. Pier side will use the ARs if they are not busy but it time may not appear to be reduced but it might actually reduce. Keep an eye on it. There may also be a limit to how much help the Queen can receive but I don't remember if that is true or not. You might want to look up Alfred's ship repair guide and check there.

ARs cannot help with major Float damage above 5 IIRC (or they cannot help with that at all). They can help with Engineering damage and System damage which are usually repaired after Float damage in the same repair band. As RJ advises, if no ship is assigned to them they donate their repair points to the port but not a shipyard - so no help with Float damage >5 there.
