I have noticed a distinct difference between regular flak and flakiver in the German OOB. What is Flakiver? Is it a different type of ammo or explosive? Why is it so much more effective than regular flak?

I believe the only difference is the Flakv is a quad gun. I am not 100% certain that it is the only difference.

My spelling may not be perfect, but...
1... 2... 3... 4...
Ein... Zvei... Trei... (flak)VIER(ling).

Flakvierling is the dreaded Virbelvind, with 4 20mm cannon dealing out death (despite some odd game mechanics ;)).

...aaand since initial 'v' in German is pronounced like 'f', you get "flakfierling" ---> fierling = fourling .. :p

It's "Drei" = 3

In the same way - Drilling = triplet (for some AAA variants)

There's not much difference, they are the same 20mm cannon as in the 20mm flak guns but only there are 4 of them stacked together in a Flakvierling blasting at pretty much the same time which means a greater rate of fire than a single 20mm gun.

I've just watched my op fire take out 3, then 4, then 3 of Jim1954's Russian infantry as the 3 squads advanced through a line of smoke. That was nice to see.

Don't tell Jim, but the ammo loadout is rather miniscule however.:(

Sorry buddy, the Uhus are in my OOBs. ;)

No, I wouldn't do that to you. Uhus are terror weapons that no sporting PBEMer would use on another player.

Did you decorate those 2 T-34 drivers of yours that I mentioned? Lucky bast@rds!!

It'll be somewhat like this:

Eins <-- s
Zwei <-- w
Drei <-- D
Vier <-- yay!
Fünf
Sechs
Sieben
Acht
Neun
Zehn

:)

Come on, repeat after me...

While we are discussing the autocannons here, i have a question - is there any formula to count the HE kill of the automatic weapons (both ACs and small arms)?
