ORIGINAL: Rogue187 The opening week of WWII has become a complete surprise to me and I think I have frustrated some of the early plans of the Japanese. I am playing on the Dec 8 full campaign as I wanted the realistic Pearl Harbor results. I'm sure many of the more experienced players may have seen these results, but they are new to me. DEI- Most of the early action as taken place here. The British CL and DD from Singapore (I forgot their manes) managed to break up some of the Japanese invasion forces approaching the north end of Borneo before getting jumped by a surface TF and sunk. An American surface TF headed by the CA Houston, supported by a CL and DDs managed to sneak in and attack the Japanese transports unloading troops on the southern end of Manila. Sadly the Naga base had already fallen, but some of their supplies and reinforcement troops still their ships were destroyed. Both groups broke contact and the Japanese moved back into place to continue off loading operations the following day. Much to their surprise, they encountered the big guns of TF Z! Yes, the British Prince of Wales and Repulse had turned around, went south of Borneo and hit the landing force the day after the American force. No more Japanese TF! Wake- The Alamo of the Pacific has held! The invasion force was attacked by the carrier Lexington and almost completely destroyed. The Marines on Wake held and wiped out the few invasion forces that made it it ashore. Currently two TFs of supplies and fuel have arrived and are getting the island some much needed supply. Allied losses have been relatively light so far. A few support ships (AVD, AVS), unescorted AKs and 1 TK have been sunk by submarines, but they were mostly empty anyway. The Japanese are continuing their overland push to Singapore. Currently, the Americans and Australians are looking at developing bases in the South Pacific in order to create a supply line to Australia. *Edited for grammar. The AI is playing pre-set scripts so its ability to respond to your moves is very limited. As you saw with the British cruiser at northern Borneo the AI may have a covering force nearby but it may not have search info to detect your ships and intercept them before they hit the Japanese Amphib TF. However, once the covering force knew your location ...
