nothing was needed or altered from what's shown, it worked out of the box, with no alterations from your shortcut etc

alt tabs in and out of windows with no errors and also works full screen by default with my setup mentioned on 1st post

Shameless self-promotion follows...

For anybody still playing this, the finest of all WW1 strategic games, here's a link to mods and fixes for the v1.08Q version that should also work for the last official patch:
Randomizer's WW1G Naval Mods

Included are fixed Grand Campaigns and versions for the 1915, 1916 and 1918 scenarios that restore units that do not appear in the stock game.
