One question for you all masters.
How to make sure Spain joins the Axis?
Thanks a lot!

Get Algeria, clear Casablanca and Oran of allied units (if any). Accept the Decision to gift Morocco to Spain.

Great AAR thanks for posting this. I haven't played the vanilla scenario since the game was still behind the iron curtain (BETA) so it's nice to see how the game is balanced out. The unit count for USSR seems incredibly low, was this due to a reluctance to purchase Corps?

Not really, a typical turn would be: buy 1 tech chit, rebuild what was destroyed and get more corps (and AAs). I don't remember when I hit max but ran max corp in 1942, and the siberian sent me over limit. After that I accumulated fighters, tanks and armies.

One thing I did (that I regret) that might account for that is that I cashed in both USSR production and industry tech on turn one to get my infantry tech going right away. Maybe I should have been more patient.

The best way is through diplomacy. But to gain through diplomacy you will have to do it before the US enters the War. Once the US is in the Allies can counter you with an equal number of diplomacy chits. The alternative is (as KZ says) through capturing Algiers, Oran and Casablanca. That is the way I had to do it in this game.
