The problem is that the weapons will continue to circle at 30 feet at 530 knots for a fixed amount of time as if they have a means of propulsion, which they have not. Without propulsion, this is merely a glide weapon that has to trade altitude for speed/range in a fixed glide ratio and at 30 feet, there is no longer any altitude left to trade for speed/range. So circling for up to five minutes at a constant 30 feet at 530 knots without any form of propulsion defies both the second law of thermodynamics and basic Newtonian physics ;) The SBD-II glide bomb does not exhibit this abnormal behavior and just impacts the surface once their target is destroyed and no alternative targets are available. So therefor this abnormal JSOW-C behavior must be related to a "bug". Q.E.D. W.
