After updating to 1.0.81 I was experiencing the crashing like some others had. I replaced the binaries with the beta ones posted and I can now launch without crashing. Now h[image][/image]owever, once starting a new game I get a dialog saying "Failed to create LOS image (2480 x 5310 pixels) due to not enough GRAPHICS memory on the video card, Tigers on the Hunt will now terminate.

I've attached a screenshot of it.

Any ideas on what is going on?

that's a large res, what memory you have on the GPU?

a report will say for sure,...

How to get a DirectX Diagnostic file:

1. click on "START"
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

once the report has been made, just attach it to your post with first adding the file to a zip, which is then permitted to attach to the forum

I've attached the zipped DxDiag. According to the control panel on Windows 7, I have 1554MB total available graphics memory, and 64MB dedicated graphics memory. It's an Intel HD graphics card.

As a point of reference, I've never had an issue running or got this error, upgrading to 1.0.81 (and the subsequent beta to fix the crashing on start issue) is when I started seeing this dialog/error.

Hi telengard,

The graphics error indicate that the video card is unable to create LOS image size of 2480 x 5310 pixels. Please update your video card driver, hopefully that will help.

NOTE: Your video card does not meet the game video card minimum requirements. Product page: http://www.matrixgames.com/products/product.asp?gid=578

Video/Graphics: DirectX compliant video card with minimum of 256MB of RAM, its possible to run the game with lower specs video card but it's not always guaranteed.

Processor: Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU G530 @ 2.40GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.4GHz

Memory: 4096MB RAM

Card name: Intel(R) HD Graphics
Dedicated Memory: 64 MB
Driver Date/Size: 6/1/2015

Realtek High Definition Audio
Date and Size: 3/27/2012

OS: Windows XP/Windows Vista/Windows 7/8/10
CPU: Pentium IV 2.4 Ghz or equivalent
RAM: 1GB of RAM
Video/Graphics: DirectX compliant video card with minimum of 256MB of RAM
1280x800 resolution heavily recommended
Sound: DirectX compliant sound card
Hard disk space: 500MB
DirectX version: Directx9c

while you just meet the bare minimum for the cpu side and have enough base memory to run the game, as it's an onboard GPU, so the intel chip is doing both the work, instead of an dedicated card, it slows down the cpu even more, plus base system memory is slower than fast GPU memory, which makes the whole game come to a slow grind, i'm sorry to say, this 2012 or later model may have finally come to the end of it's days for gaming anyway, and you have more than had your moneys out of it imo i'm sorry to say.

if the game worked fine for you without the latest patch, only thing is to do is uninstall and wipe the folder clean and re install and don't use the latest patch with its fixes and updates etc

other point is also, the higher you go, the more ram it's needs, so lowering the res will use less

Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) (60.000Hz)
Output Type: HDMI
Monitor Name: Generic PnP Monitor
Monitor Model: CPT-385AM
Monitor Id: CYP0001
Native Mode: 1920 x 1200(p) (59.950Hz)

there is also a miss match in the monitor res with the O/S, does the display work at Native Mode: 1920 x 1080(p) but the monitor doesn't? Native Mode: 1920 x 1200(p)

Hi telengard,

The graphics error indicate that the video card is unable to create LOS image size of 2480 x 5310 pixels. Please update your video card driver, hopefully that will help.

Hmm, well I guess it no longer works with 64MB of memory. As I mentioned, the game worked fine before the patch (after backing out the change and putting SSE support back). Is there an option I can tweak where things can work again? Either by changing resolution, or turning off options. What exactly is the LOS image? Is this for viewing LOS? If so, can that be disabled? I've purchased both the base game and the expansion, are you saying that they will no longer run at all and I need a new computer?

This computer from what I understand does not have a slot to put an upgraded video card in. And updating the drivers won't really help with the amount of RAM on the card.

[removed quoted link as I got a weird error "You are not allowed to post links, emails or phone numbers for 7 days from the date of your tenth post.", uh ok]

<snip for weird forum error>

Not sure why it is like that, it should work with the native res... I will try it

Thanks zakblood. Yeah, it's a bit old. But it did work just fine before this patch.

So, are there any configuration options I can tweak to get this to work (like lower the resolution or quality, etc) or is there any chance this could be made to work in an updated patch release?

Have you tried updating the video drivers? There is nothing much that can be done from the game perspective. What resolution are you running on your computer? lowering your windows resolution will help reducing your video card memory requirements, though minimum specs is 1024x768.

I did update the drivers and it did not make a difference. I'm running at 1920 x 1080. Is there an option to change the resolution TotH uses, or does it just leverage the desktop resolution? Also, this didn't happen before, so if a new feature was added, could it be made optional?

I appreciate everyone trying to help get things working again.

Nothing was modified in the latest update that makes changes to the graphics engine so there is no reason why the game shouldn't start.

By default the game leverages the desktop resolution, however you can modifying the configuration.ini file to switch the game into windowed mode. Load the configuration.ini file into notepad editor and change the following:

Windowed=Yes
Sizex=1024
Sizey=768

Then save the configuration.ini file and run the game again and run the game again.
