Note: Season 1 Tournment has concluded. See you guys in season 2!

Rules:
1. Challenger picks side.
2. Victory vs someone above moves you up.
3. Losing vs someone from a floor below twice sends you down. The loses don't have to be consecutive.
4. If a floor has no players on it or that all players are locked in a game, two participants of the floor just under it can have a game where the winner moves to the upper level.
5. Players can only have one Tourney game at a time.
6. After a player fends off a challenge from a player below they are allowed a grace period where they can issue their own challenge before accepting another challenge from a player ranked lower.
7. A player can request to be considered inactive. Once the player return to active status, he starts on the level just below before it was inactive.
8. A player that refuses a challenge from another player without a valid reason is considered inactive.

Please horrible excuse the ACSII art (At conclusion September 10th, 2018)

An * denotes a player not currently in a tourney game.
A # denotes a player with a loss vs a player ranked lower

This is a follow-up of the Tournament thread and our attempt to get the ball rolling.

Just start a game, label it Tourney game in the AAR section and record your results, including game ID. Need to know which version of the game you have. This way we will also accumulate data on the win-loss records of the two sides.

I'll start adding the name of the people that signified interest but have not found an opponent to the base level of the pyramid.

Maybe nnason and I could start a tourny match? For me any side is good either. Let me know if that is fine.

Yeah... ideally you guys have to throw the gauntlet at each other, playing match maker for everyone would be too much work for my liking!

Hi everyone!

- You want to play in our ladder system/pyramid?
- You are looking for a cheap target? A sitting duck?
- Some opponent stupid enough to miss obvious tactical moves?
- one or more turns (for european players) most days a week?
- start your way up the ladder from the basement level?

Here I am!

Ok, to be honest: my first ladder game was my first Axis game at all. I guess I'm not soooooooo bad as someone might think. And since I just won my first game as allies it can't be too bad at all. That means I have no game running at the moment and would love to play another one.

So if there is anyone outside who wants to play "ranked" games just set up a game (no matter what side) and let me know here or via PM.

Cheers
Mika

Yes, since nnason began to play already I am in but without an opponent. Thus if you like I am ready when you are. Give me a PM and/or just host a match.

Just started the game vs amadeus

Would be wise to play just one "ladder" (= ranked) game at a time.
So I'm open for a second one but that wouldn't be a game for our ladder system.

I've tweaked the rule to go down a level to having to lose twice before you lose a level. That way there won't be a glut at the basement level.

Irishguards: I think pretty much everyone but you and me are locked in a game. Either you convince someone else to join the tourney or issue me a challenge.

I'm just one floor above so I'm a valid target!

Hi,

I'm open for a game in the ladder. Is there anyone waiting for an opponent ? I can play either side.

Hi everyone!

I have to admit that it makes me pretty happy that more and more players are joining our system. The more players we are the more fun we will have.

Unlike Twilight Struggle this game misses online statistics (W/L ratio or something like an ELO rating). I still hope for someone with enough html skills to set up a simple ladder/pyramid that shows the actual rankings of our group.

So thank you everyone for bringing this to life. Spread the news about our turney, encourage others to join and play and keep playing and challenging other players.
