Tourney match - YohanTM2 (Axis) defeated by KorutZelva (Allies). Very well played. I'll post some thoughts in a but and happy to have a rematch. I do not believe the Axis can beat an equal level player.

I was saving you for the final boss for the last level of the ladder but I guess the sight of me on a higher level must have been too much.

I think this one will deserve a proper AAR treatment.

Let's go!

I'm up for joining this. Would like to play as Allies. Will probably lose, but I keep wanting to try out new strategies and tactics, and I am learning new things in each new match.

All,
Rannug61 played an excellent game. So I got trounced. I resigned in June 42 rather than continue play because:
Russians almost equal in size to the Germans,
German morale below that of the Russians,
Russian MPPs higher than the Germans,
Africa was lost,
and none of the Axis objectives were achieved.

Proceeding with inevitable grind back to Berlin with probably an Allied win in 43 seemed pointless.

I learned a lot from the game.

Hi, YohanTM2 (Axis) defeats PJL1973 (Allies)

It was an interesting game in terms of variant strategies but most of the UK had fallen before Russia could enter the game.

I wouldn't see this result as any proof of Axis superiority, just how bad I still play this game. As a result I wish to withdraw from the tournament.

I'm curious... does the allied player surrender if Germany takes over the UK island? I thought the British hold on Eqypt (and Africa I think) was enough to keep them in the fight? I dunno much. Did German units get worn down much in the UK invasion? I'm wondering if the cost of the invasion would reduce their ability to field enough units against both Russia and defend the west against landings by the USA. I'm just thinking about this stuff cause I haven't experienced any of it myself.

If UK holds Manchester, Cairo, Toronto the capital can move to Cairo or Toronto if it comes to be.

If one of Manchester, Cairo, Toronto is in Axis custody, then the UK will fight to the death on their island and will surrender if it loses London-Manchester-Edinburgh.

If it surrenders, UK fleet will stay in the fight as 'free unit' (a bit of an odd design choice there), as well as 50% of land and air unit.

Thanks Korut that's interesting. I think the remaining units called free units is realistic cause the French and Polish units were like that after losing their homelands.

Is is usual for the allied player to surrender if loses their island but their capital is Cairo? I think they could still fight on especially cause USA and Russia are still full power.

Please don't withdraw. You can suspend (not play anyone) until you are better. Or you could play me I am 2 losses one for either side. My mistakes are I played to many games against AI. makes for many bad habits.

I hope you stay in, I think the win was more by "shock and awe" then a convincing win - I had was very weak for Russia

If you ask me it is just a question of what you want. If you want to win, play unranked games. If you want to improve faster, play ranked games in the tournament.

Why? Because then you will most likely meet players with better skills. You will see, learn, adopt, develop and make own plans and learn much faster.

And to be honest... I play ranked games to and I am still new to the game and learning. And I still try out what comes to my mind (with a devastating result in my actual game). But it is still fun to see how the game evolves.

Devastatingly effective or dismal failure? What did you try? How about a German amphibious invasion of Iceland? Or a landing in Canada to shut down that ongoing supply of money to the UK? I think Brazil needs to be invaded too.
