2nd Feb 44 When I said my CVs were out of position to do anything against this raid, I lied. They were just out of view on the screenshot above, about 18 hexes south of his fleets and totally undetected. I decide to go all in considering he had lost a decent chunk of fighters the turn before and had perhaps one or two cripples. So I am sitting with my heart in my mouth watching the replay and I see the search SBD destroyed by CAP, B6N Jill destroyed by CAP messages start to appear, so obviously a battle was about to take place. However, the SBD and TBF destroyed by CAP messages went on and on and on and on......I realize to he must have set most of his strike a/c to search and/or ASW to try and kill the forest of subs around him, a fatal mistake.
