I have some air units where they've kept their number but they have no type now. This is the first time the error has happened to me. Game version is 1.11.01.

Try selecting the equipment tab, then selecting aircraft button (top right). Don't think Type is available for Air Groups display in Commander's Report.

This is a recently introduced bug that is already fixed in the new internal version. It may (or may not) fix itself once the I-153 upgrade to Il-2.
