June, 1944. Europe has been under the Nazi heel for 4 long years. Even if the Eastern Front is crumbling and the Red Army counterattacks are in full swing, the German Armed Forces are still a formidable opponent and are making very costly every inch of ground conquered.

Only a breach into the Festung Europa and the creation of a second front could ensure the beginning of the end of the Third Reich.

Tigers on the Hunt: Normandy is a DLC contains 2 Campaign Game Scenarios for Tigers on the Hunt, featuring 6 different battles.

The scenarios feature many historical tactical situations from the Normandy Landing, ranging from the heroic deeds of the 6th Company C of 2nd Ranger Battalion at Pointe de la Percée, the British fighting at Le Hamel, Pegasus Bridge, and more!

Stay tuned for further updates!

Hi,

It's "Pointe de la Percée" in French and not "Pointe de la Porcée".

I hope that the game slowdown last seen in the Kursk DLC will not affect this DLC.

nice to see , certainly will buy :)
Well done all involved.
But just to throw a blanket on the fire ,
I sort of feel the point is getting missed a bit here .
DLC that holds our attention for a short period may not be the way to go.
I`m 100% behind peter focusing on the game mechanics without having to worrying about pumping out scenarios
every week.
The community has by far supplied the content for Toth.
Releasing another DLC that will be over within a week is ` in my opinion ` not the way to go.
I will willingly pay the same price to have the Italians or French or Hungarians etc. added instead of
a set of scenario`s , And yes, that is pre - judging the content.
In the end i will have a great experience with the DLC , but it will be short.
But release the Italians for example and the community will release countless hours of enjoyment long after the official DLC has been forgotten.
Are you better of releasing a limited set of scenarios or giving the community a license to play?

I totally agree with Fuselex here, the more nations available the better.

Japanese - Pacific Theatre would be nice!

It depends from which side you play

My crystal ball tells me that the new nations will be included in the TOTH 2 DLC, ie between 18 and 36 months. logical but disappointing.
TOTH 2 will be more general public than TOTH 1 so easier, many will regret the defects of the first.

I will gladly and willingly pay the full price of the original game to have AI units firing (after all, it is supposed to be a wargame and war - in the words of Nathaniel Bedford Forrest - it's all about killing)

@fuselex

I wholeheartedly agree

@rfalvo69

There are some battles involving Italians who deserve being turned into a scenarios: to name a few, Beda Fomm (which was a quite close affair), the Ariete at Bir El Gobi, Italian troops in Russia... and many others.

I do not agree, Stalin has allowed homage to the dead Italian soldiers because they were the only ones who did not commit abuses against Russian civilians, and then, there is this famous German grand retreat where Italian soldiers throwing a grenade at a German general threatening them.

You do not agree about what?

I seriously doubt Stalin ever once thought about Italian troops in Russia. As far as I know, he didn't care too much about Russian troops.

sort of wonder where Toth 2 became a topic.
I know peter has mentioned it before ,
but are we putting the cart before the horse ?
I love the game , there is not a scenario that i don`t enjoy .
The technical side of the game is a bit out of my league , but i have fun :).
Reading through the forums , most of the issues have revolved around the AI ( thank you UP844 )
Your contribution has been outstanding.
It doesn`t effect my syle of play :). I am more than willing to send any unit on a suicide mission .
with very limited knowledge of what could or should happen.
I doubt there is anyone. who has played Toth for a while ,would think it`s perfect.
Damn good fun , but perfect ?.
i`m here for the long term ,
ToTH 2 ?
lets spend a bit more time together, Iron out the wrinkles , before we move on.

Most issue revolve around the AI because because - frankly - I think it is the single big flaw in ToTH. The game is astoundingly successful in rendering ASL easy and fun to play, without bothering the player with the need to remember scores of rules and special cases, and for this achievement alone Peter has my unending gratitude. I am going to purchase the Normandy pack as an act of blind faith .

As long as I continue to be able to win most (95%) scenarios against the supposedly "ferocious" AI with loss ratios better than the ones the Finnish got against the 1939 Red Army, no matter which side I take, I don't give a damn about having a bunch of new nationalities, terrain types or other features. It's like repainting the car when it has only a single cylinder working.

Peter has already implemented various AI changes (do you remember lone leaders leaving behind scores of broken units and recklessly charging the enemy or remaining alone in a VP hex?). I also noticed that after the last update AI infantry appears to be a bit more prone to fire on broken units or in in the advancing fire segment or when pinned. In my opinion, however, unless the AI reluctance to fire - even when it has nothing else to do - is corrected the game will remain hopelessly flawed.

-1.
We will have neither a better AI nor new nationalities. We will have a new game with new problems with new people who will propose new solutions.
We will then go to a third game ...

you have been incredibly consistent in your view of Toth up844.
To improve the basics of the game.
A lot of patches have been released incorporating your observations .
I could not think of anyone else who has pointed out so many of the issues that ToTH faced.
Every one of them , I feel . has led to a better game .
I have seen your frustration with the AI not performing as well as it should.
Sadly , if it did . I may never win a scenario :).
But I have no doubt that it will improve the game.
Kursk , generally was a flop due to the lag , Normandy, I hope will run ok due to the updates Peter has developed .
But still , have I seen any passion for the official release of Kursk ?
None at all . but damn I did enjoy Rico`s Stalingrad series .
The official release of scenario`s may number 50?
The community has dwarfed that, without the community how many would still be playing ?
Please don`t release campaign`s , release tools that the community will use.
Normandy will be played in a week , Then what ?
Give the community a nationality :)

Thanks for your kind words, Fuselex!

As regards to my "incredibly consistent view", it is due to the "incredibly consistent results" I obtain in most scenarios, regardless of the side I play. On the other hand, it looks like I am the only one to see this issue. I'd like to have other nationalities, but I'd like more to have to think a bit more when I play.

Of course, I am going to purchase the Normandy DLC as soon as it will be released to show my support for Peter .

The AI with all its flaws is still a player for our satisfaction. The AI is challenging enough to play against as opposed to laying your pieces around a map board with tweezers against an imaginary friend! Despite winning more games than lose the first time I play a scenario it doesn't bother me but then I don't win 95% of my games. The AI is getting better

From someone that really wants to play the game a bit more- the UI is the main area that still needs attention before I can have this as a title I return to consistently. The amount of clicks gets repetitive, and is a barrier to really enjoying the game for me.

There is a scenario called "Le Hamel".

"Le Hamel" means the hamlet or the village ("le hameau" in french).
The patronymic Duhamel means " (native) of the hamlet " or " of the village "
