OK, let's all take some lessons from this.

Vic: When you see a problem arising in a thread, be more specific about what action you'd like to see taken. Many thought that your warning meant that a line had been crossed, and that the discussion should be steered back into appropriate waters...not that further replies were forbidden. We understand and appreciate that you have more important things to do (CL!!!); just tell us which papers to p on and consider them 'wet'.:D

Gmenfan: No more days off...bring a laptop to your next procedure and have the doctor give you a 'local'. If we see a substitute teacher, the class is gonna break out the spitballs...sometimes the Ritalin just doesn't cut it. :D j/k

Matrix: You've always said that many of the forum's improvements came from member's suggestions, so lemme give it a try. Give the mods some better tools; if a thread/post is deemed improper they should have the ability to zap it out of existence immediately, not simply close it and wait for it to fall off. I understand that it may be a limitation of the software, but it doesn't hurt ask, right?

Jim L: Next time you're feeling aggressive, hit the weights, not the forum. :)

Jess: Stop poking the mods with pointy sticks...the bars aren't that strong. And gimme my stick back!

Bel: Stop hanging out in AoW; you might catch something that penicillin doesn't touch. But your post about the French blocking roads and throwing manure at parliament did have me ROFLMAO!

OB: I saw you laughing from behind that tree...smart move!

Goblin: (sigh) I had such high hopes for you... :p

Me: Don't post after downing a 44oz Big Gulp of Mountain Dew (pulse rate = 150). Uh oh...Vic, you better point me to those papers, FAST!

"Kokoda: Yes, of course you can edit your messages whenever you feel like it. It's also a nice way to not up your post count due to a number of "oops" posts. (an "edit" doesn't count on your post meter) Except for forgetting the file attachments, that is!

Belisarius"

Belisarius Sir,

I was confused about the number of post counts, but I have worked out that it's not the number of POSTS, but seems to be the number of THREADS you contribute to that counts. You can have dozens of posts on an AAR, for example, without the count going up.

So this post is what will make me closer to leaving boot camp, not the "oops". Thanks for that!

It doesn't make me a better player, sadly, but I won't be a 'recruit' soon. Of course, I aspire to "Opinionated Old F (emission- of-waste-digestive-gases-from- the-fundamental-orifice)"*

*Just trying to protect the delicate petals - can't be too careful, it seems.

It appears you were an innocent in this fiasco...in fact, if you actually goaded JL into doing it I'll award bonus points. :D :D

Besides, I'm still in your debt for burning me that copy of SPWAW v4.4 back in 2000 (i.e., I'll look the other way!). ;)

So what was the special thing about the thread which was for some reason deleted? Give me all the bloody details! So many people discussing this. Seems like an interesting story.
