Tomorrow this Division gets bought out and will load for invasion Adak. It is one of three divisions tasked with this job, 2 assault and one reserve. The 5th Division and 55th Division round out the troops (one is at Kushiro the other aboard transports 22 hexes from Attu (their staging point).

Japan totally destroyed Sitkin, and right now the emphasis is establishing these bases and a perimeter for the destruction of Adak, and their 45,000 American troops.

Weather forecast is quite pleasant, don't you think?

They moderated our forecast to 12 to 18 inches the next 36 hours. I'll take that over an Aleutians blizzard!

Winter is upon him, isn't it? Cold zone effects begin November 1 (as I recently learned to my surprise for the 18th time, as I for some reason always and incorrectly think they begin in December).

So far doing good work bouncing between shipyard and pier to eliminate the engine damage.

Japan gets a CVL, CVE, CLAA x2, and the Musashi in one week or less.

The CVE's will join two others and steam for Singers, perhaps they might get to Ceylon in time. Have to be real careful with them, as they pretty much normally are just victory points for the Allies.

I have no real plans on escalating the speed of the invasion of Adak, it is bait to hopefully get the Allies to push their ships forward. Or even just tie up his fleet here.

Isolate and reduce. I have some hefty air cap from only 1 hex away to catch transports, and soon more from two hexes.

I would really like to have at least one super BB here before seeking to engage the Allied fleets again, although I am toying with plans to sneak the KB into CV clash on my terms. I have tried a few times and failed.

My best guess is that at least one month will pass before any actual invasion on Adak occurs.

Finished off the turn, and realized I accidentally had a CL at Ceylon with upgrades enabled...ruhoh, stuck in port for 20 days now. My OCD didn't kick in for that one.

Last 30 or so days of American ship losses...

surely some of these is wishful thinking, but it does look nice.

I guess the Eta Jima Cadets will have to find different summer cruise ships with your losses.

I am starting to see the impact of operating ships in this frozen winterland. Japan still only has two ARs, both present here in the north, but we have many AD and smaller aux repair ships present.

Should be interesting to see the continued effect of operating here in foul weather. I wish it was even harsher, to be honest.

Movement mode. Poor supply (I don't think that shows up for bombardments). Disruption. Experience. Lack of return-firing weapons.

Dunno.

Shock across and easily take Hengyang. Industry pretty much intact. 78 combat squads destroyed at Chungking's ground bombardment -- highest one day total ever.

Invasion Ceylon

What would you do...push on into Colombo where a BB SAG is spotted, with a cruiser SAG at Koggla, divert the invasion and send the British Battleships in?
