And always check your submarine commanders... as a "pro-tip".

Always try to get guys with 55+ Naval and 55+ Aggressiveness. Sub commanders with aggressiveness in 20's are pretty much useless.

It is easy to do when you set up SS TF. I use exclusively "Patrol around target"-button. Lot easier if not into total micromanagement...

Even with 80% dud rate, you tend to get lot of hits with good commanders. Brits and Dutch obviously have dud rate of 10% from start.

Hope you can follow up on those damaged BBs! The AI might not get LRCAP in place over them before you hit again.

Here is a save from May 30, 1942

https://www.dropbox.com/s/nw9tb185srvs1xa/wpae014.pws?dl=0

Some interesting things:

CV Akagi, that I though I had sunk month ago reappeared...dammit.

And Allies had 2 indecisive CV vs CV battles near Port Moresby. Basically minor damage and decimated both sides carrier planes.

Port Moresby has now been scene of lot of naval combat. 2 CV vs CV battles and several of my CV interdictions against IJN surface forces.

DEI will be lost in June, because of lack of supply. Only Batavia has still reasonably supply.

When I get my carriers repaired, I need to get more troops and base forces into PM. It seems to be AI's point of interest right now.

CV Hornet has arrived, but I have chronic lack of destroyers to escort her and heavy units to PH from Balboa.

Soerabaja falls on May 31, 1942...

Also PM is hit by full Kido Butai...resulting ruined airfield and depleted air units...

I definitely need to screen the place (Noumea) with either heavier SCTF or carriers.

Other thing is, allies hammered BB Haruna near Port Moresby with dozen bomb hits. Unfortunately, that will not sink a BB.

This is damn amusing, though it's because game sets sinking weapon as last one making damage:

Amount of CAP over Rangoon is bit too much for Japan (and that is after AVG with 3 squadrons left):

Morning Air attack on TF, near Rangoon at 54,53

Weather in hex: Heavy rain

Raid detected at 40 NM, estimated altitude 10,000 feet.
Estimated time to target is 14 minutes

Japanese aircraft
G4M1 Betty x 9

Allied aircraft
Hurricane I Trop x 13
Hurricane IIb Trop x 28
Hurricane IIc Trop x 8
P-40E Warhawk x 38

Japanese aircraft losses
G4M1 Betty: 1 destroyed

No Allied losses

BB Ise had bad day in office...pity that Avengers carried bombs instead of torpedoes. They did have unfortunate incident to get in range with ADM Halsey's 2 CV TF:

CL Isuzu
DD Minekaze
