Gotta love it when you run out of targets at the same time you run out of bombs to drop ...

Had to go back a ways to try and get a fix on the game date. That should be at the head of each combat (or series of combats from the same turn) reported.

It usually takes three penetrating hits to sink an I-boat. Two will sometimes do an R-boat.
With that damage the sub should be easier to detect and finish off if you have some ASW to follow it toward probable repair port.

Elsewhere:

Burma/Thailand: Battles rage around Tavoy and Chiang Mai. Both were more heavily defended than expected. Advanced armoured echelons are now near Bangkok.

China: Attrition battle rages in Loyang. Due to supply and supply system, I am forced to rotate Chines Corpses (literally and figuratively) in and out of city.

Pacific: Adak I. and Midway are now fully funchtional submarine bases, increasing the efficiency of Allied sub operations.

More troops (especially base forces) are on the way from West Coast to Sydney.
