Turn 28. Mar/Apr 1944.

Allied #1. Weather.

Western Allies. Fine weather in the north temperate combined with weak axis defenses in Western and Northwestern France can mean only one thing, especially since the US has an o-chit available to take a super-combine.

OVERLORD!

Though the Brits do wish they could take a naval or combine but the demands for land movement and the likelihood of the weather turning next allied impulse drive them to a land.

Also, the Western Allies in Southern France will make another attempt to breakthrough against the Vichy Stack that's held against the allies previous 2 or, is it 3?, attempts to breakthrough against them.

Actions. Western Allies. US - super combine, Great Britain - land, Free France - naval.

Actions. China. Land. When does China ever take anything other than a land?

Actions. USSR. Land. This impulse will be about encircling Army Group Center (von Rundstedt) and push continue to push West by the Soviet Central and Northern Fronts. The Soviet Southern Front will continue to harass and contain the German army group in the Caucuses trying to link up with Army Group Center.

Still no ART being build by the Chinese. It looks like that the best units the Chinese has are not going to be part of this game...

I seriously considered it, but the Chinese are in such a desperate need for land units ... I promise I will try to squeeze one in the next turn builds.

To expand on this, I do see the folly of my ways with respect to Soviet builds. I did build one this turn, but because of gearing limits they were limited to 1. I should have been building 1 or 2 per turn all along for a while now. I won't make that mistake again. Also, wrt/Chinese, in the future (games) I will make it a priority to build out their artillery units.

Turn 25. Mar/Apr 1944. Allied #1.

Action. Great Britain (revised). After much reconsideration, Great Britain decides on a combine (instead of a land) action.

Great Britain. Black Sea (1/2). The decision to take a combine seems to be the right one (so far). The lone Turkish CP providing supply to Manstein and his army group in the Caucuses is sunk.

USSR 2nd cavalry corps. Well not so fast on cutting supply to Manstein and his forces. They're still in supply but barley. Supply could be cut by the Soviet 2nd cavalry corps if he's directed to move into Dneropetrovsk and cut the rails going through there. However, he's been ordered to take Krusk and cut supply to Rundstedt and Army Group Center, which is what he does (or will do). Back to the Eastern Front in a bit.

(Not shown). Eisenhower and Hodges are pulled out of Southern France and put on transports in the Western Med. At the end of turn they will be moved to Western France to command the allied forces there. Eisenhower will be the overall commander and Hodges will be his deputy.

USSR (3/3).

Just noticed that this cap shows all German forces in the Soviet Union out of supply. Not sure this is true ... will need to verify!

Turn 25. Mar/Apr 1944. Axis #3.

Euro-Axis. The Eastern Front. Supply. Does appear that all axis forces on the Eastern Front are out of supply. With this being the case the Germans will take a super-combine, hate to waste an o-chit for that but it's necessary in order to get a supply convoy into the Black sea and get their armies in the south (of Russia) back in supply. Though, this will require another air battle to play out in the Black Sea, which is a must win for the Luftwaffe!

How many Axis land units are there in Brest? I suspect the answer is one. The Germans do not have enough land units in Brittany to contain the invasion. I see only one 5-4 INF that can reach the front lines. Furthermore, asking Balbo to hold his hex unaided, even with air support, is wishful thinking. And with much of the German army to the east of the Russian front lines, the Germans might have trouble coming up with units to contain everything.

(By the way, the Germans can retake Kursk this impulse. You just have to remember the right rule.)

In this world he's still trying to get a command (i.e., his HQ hasn't been built yet). Couldn't happen to a better person.

Turn 25. Mar/Apr 1944. Axis #3.

Actions. Germany - super-combine, Italy - land, Japan - land.

Euro-Axis. Supply Resorted.

(1) Caucuses, for now at least, due to the Romania CP that was moved out into the Black Sea.

(2) Brest, due to the German TRS and AMPH (both loaded by the way) that moved out into the North Sea. In addition to carrying supply to Brest, they're loaded with two corps for deployment to Brittany.
