He's received a ton of cards. Still, we can talk on the same level if he needs

Yeah, I was going to send a card but when I saw that by the 16th of December (or thereabouts) he had already received thousands of cards... At that point I mostly didn't want to contribute to any potential hardship on him or his daughter from so much mail. I saw the picture of her pick-up load from the post office and it would be a challenge to fit that many cards into a car. I'm glad he got a ton of cards, though.

adar - the USS Lamson, on which the veteran served, was DD-367. "Tincan" is slang for destroyer.
