I don't understand when to use the GUID or the dbid in LUA AND where do you find these values?

what are you trying to do?

The only time I have needed the DBID is for setting/changing loadouts, and you can see it in the db viewer for that unit - they are all listed.

As for a units GUID, you can rightly click a unit and one of the options if you are in editor mode will be to copy the name and guid to the clipboard.

As long as your units are all named differently you can just use the unit name... the guid and side help to make sure it is the correct unit if there are duplicates of the same name - which is easy to have on things like Ammo Bunkers or other common facilities. Other units could be duplicates also but you usually end up with different names in my experience.
