Land Combat:

The fractional throw succeeds (185 thrown) taking the combat odds to 2:1. A 1 is thrown. The Italians lose two units.
Warspite, I admire your restraint. I can't recall seeing one side roll so many low land combat rolls. If it were me I'd what to metaphorically burn the dice.

The shocking thing is that the Germans actually rolled a 9 against Lodz! Maybe they can get some good rolls now, although I think it is too late to salvage this game, barring even more ridiculous luck in their favor later on.

Restraint? How do you know I've been restrained? You ought to see the state of my cat

On a more serious note there are two reasons for the neutral reporting. a) At the end of the day this is a dice-based game and anyone not prepared to accept that dice can be unfriendly is probably playing the wrong game

b) More importantly the fact is that constant bitching about dice rolls spoils the fun for the opponent (and I've done my share of that in the past). AllenK is not responsible for the dice and is playing a great game. Yes, what is happening on land, at sea and now in the air is unusual but it's still early days and AllenK is falling nicely into my trap - I currently anticipate a total Axis victory in 6 turns

Yes throwing a 9 with a 7:1+2 is a bit of a kick in the pants - but when I saw it I just had to laugh as my only other German throw higher than 4 was also a 7:1+2 against a notional unit . The throw you refer to was actually against Warsaw - Lodz remained my bete noire even when taking it - throws of 2, 1, 1 and 3 for an average of 1.75. But I think positive, Lodz will be one of my 'hold at all cost' strongpoints later in the game - and the hex upon which the victorious Reich will break the Red Army....just remember where you heard it first.

P.S Guys I've been giving away a couple of my secret plans so please don't tell AllenK okay?

J/A 40 Allies 2

No DoW or alignments.

Naval: CW, France
Land: China
Combined: US, USSR.

Naval moves

CW moves Dutch CP's to Addu Atoll, Sub to Bengal 3-box and TRANS to Bengal 0-box. The TRANS picks up the FTR-2. Queens to a shuttle run from Singapore to Calcutta and back, picking up an INF. CV Glorious moves from Gib to Liverpool. Various escorts sent out. CP's from Antwerp to Biscay and St. Vincent. TRANS sails from Gib to pick up the Belgium Congo TERR. Subs from Malta to Italian Coast 3-box.

France sends escorts out in the Med. CP from Yugoslavia goes to Marseilles, the CA goes to West Med 2-box. Subs go to Italian Coast 2 and 4-boxes.

The French initiate searching in the Italian Coast. Both Germany and Italy can fly a NAV up to the 2-box. The Allies don't have anything available. Any air support?

Searches: Allied 5, Axis 8. The French sub in the 4-box finds. All surprise points go to increasing damage, which results in 2 CP's destroyed and the remaining one aborted. I send it back to La Spezia.

Zhukov reaches the Romanian border by rail.

Soviets move the HQ at Chita towards the Manchurian border. The ChiComms move the GARR NW from Sian.

The Nationalists make a couple of minor moves.

CW rebase a Beaufighter to Toulouse.

The French rebase a FTR from Paris closer to the front.

Billotte reorgs the LND.

Weather stays mostly fine.

The odds with and without notional is 4:1 (82:18 - 4:1) so presumably that is a NO.

What about aircraft? The Germans bring in none and have the same interceptors

In Belgium the fractionals work (456 thrown) moving the odds to 4:1 and a 10(11) is thrown and the defenders lose two units with the third shattered. I convert to retreat.

Which units are lost?
