Example. After combats, my Base Cagayan is badly damaged. To repair it will take a too mush time and engineers, as well as supplies.

I have a good idea for a small update of the game, if it is possible of course.
In game, if our Base receives damage (Port / Airfield Service / Airfield Runway) from Naval Bombard or Airstrike, then it automatically begins repair, if there are engineers there. But, for example, we don’t want to repair everything, but only one part (Port, or Airfield Service, or Airfield Runway) to do it faster or to save supplies. For example, we do not want to repair anything at all, but concentrate all forces of engineers on building of fortifications!

I want add NEW option (2) (arrows) same in construction of fortifications (1) (arrows). It will be very convenient for everyone!
I want Designers of the game to pay attention to this offer and give an answer!

1. It is not a "small update" because it completely changes the sieges. Current one is much better in this regard.
2. Damage to facilities also represents infrastructure damage, not just targeted destruction of specific specialized places. And fort building is hampered by infrastructure damage. Like it should.
3. Repairs of facilities do not expend supply

There will most likely not be any further work on AE. But I do like the idea. I think that this was discussed a year or more ago....GP

You can easily stop repairs by removing all the engineers. I haven't tried putting them in rest mode or strategic mode, that might work.

But engineers working to repair them do.

This will work, but the problem is that lots of engineers are 'built' into combat units you may want to keep in combat mode. You could try reserve, as these will be 'committed' if needed. BTW you don't want front line units in strategic mode, they'll take more losses if bombed, bombarded, or attacked.

I will go further and say the game is now, WYSIWYG. No more updates.

Hey the game is ten years old, and I've never seen a game supported as long as this one was to begin with.

It would seem that the very last thing any Japanese Player would want is to give the Chinese more ability to dig themselves in.

A good deal of my comment was facetious.

Engineers playing pinochle in the mess tent do too.

To be clear, fortification requires supply (and a lot of it to go beyond level 6), building/expanding airfields and ports and repairing industrial facilities and etc. (oil fields, refineries, manufacturing ...) requires supply. Repairing airfields and ports does not.

I don't want engineers to work at everything. I want them to do work that I need only! That's what's important!

The designers decisions were made intentionally. Sorry, but your desires don't amount to a hill of beans.
