I had the old DW with all the add ons, so I didn't want to buy DWU just for the mods. It came up on Steam on sale, so I pulled the trigger. How do I DL the mods to Steam? Just locate the game in the Steam folder & unzip it?

I got my game from Matrix, so no Steam, but I imagine the mod process is the same for both origins. Based on the mod install details, go to the DWU install folder and unzip in the appropriate sub folders, etc.

exactly, just locate DWU in the STEAM folder and copy the various mods files in the correct sub-directory

now is much better: when you purchase a game directly from Matrix you will received also a FREE STEAM key of the purchased game

When you download the mods you need to add the folder to the Customization folder which is in the Distant Worlds Universe folder.

Once the mod is in the Customization folder you can then switch to the mod by changing theme in the main menu of Distant Worlds Universe.

This is where the Customization folder is on my computer
Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Distant Worlds Universe\Customization
