Map Boundaries - 2/26/2019 2:17:03 AM

I have been tinkering with a scenario, adding a few things that I would like to see represented. Nothing against designer's work just a matter of preference.

I would like to increase the map boundaries to experiment with a Battle of the Atlantic model. I experimented with another scenario I will never touch and it appears that unit future entry points, current deployment locations, and event coordinates are all adjusted to reflect the change. Has anyone ever had a problem with adjusting a map after forces have been deployed? Just curious, I would hate to get deep into game and find out I created a game ending error.

Thanks as always.

It seems to me that if you add to the left side or top of the map the original map coordinates will change. If you add to the right or bottom of a map the original coordinates will remain.

I added to left and top and as far as I can tell the program changed the coordinates of units already deployed, re-entry points, future deployments, and events to reflect the changes. Hopefully this is the case.

In #1 notice the location of the bottom left most German unit, a border guard.

In #2 notice the warning concerning the events when you tell the editor to add to the left side of the map.

In #3 notice that the location of the bottom left most German unit, a border guard, has changed.

If you add to the left all of the positions of every unit on the map is now changed and if there are events that use the old positions of places, units, etc., those events may very well now be off and will need to be changed manually. The game does not update your events.

Huh, I did not see that message when I added to the margins. I had created a copy of the scenario prior to modifying the map in the event things went south. I have checked some of the events and the coordinates for physical locations appear to have changed to reflect the modification. The (X,Y) values have changed but the map location for the event (London lets say) is still London and not some hex in the middle of the North Sea. I have also looked at several unit entries resulting from events and the unit's entry location is a reasonable location (naval units in deep water, air units on airfields, Brits in the UK, etc.). Maybe I got lucky, maybe the game will crash when an event is triggered. I hope for the former.
,
I checked the properties and there is an issue with not all formations having objectives assigned. Which leads me to my next question. If I don't intend to play with the "PO" and the unit is not to be reconstituted is this really a problem? Thoughts?

Thanks Lobster

When I saw the map, I wondered how many players realize that "J." and "Jez." are abbreviations for the Polish word for "Lake" ... Sorry, OT comment.

Cheers
