Will USSR select the fighter, or bomber, to be destroyed?

And will USSR stay and fight, or abort?

Difficult to choose, but I take loss for AT gun so that GAR can stay in that hex alone.

The result of the second combat in China. Once again the attacker would have had a better result if the fractional odds roll had failed. And this is one of the reasons I dislike the 2d10 LCT.

You can also see land combat table as odds, higher is not always better but odds depend on how high in table the result is.

Well, as I see it I got two losses more for rolling one higher and would have had the same result versus my opponent regardless. In my humble opinion it would have been better to put the extra loss on the lower result. So that rolling higher is actually better than rolling lower.

Anyway. I've disliked the 2d10 concept of gathering as many pluses as possible rather than odds since the first release of the table. I still recall the 2d6 table with horror.

But with that said I have resigned to the fact that I will have to use the 2d10 table from time to time.

I think you're too good as a player to like chaos Orm, and 2d10 brings a little chaos which I think is good for the game. War brings the unexpected, sometimes you lose 3 units. My feeling is that the game is too predictable and easy for attacker without 2d10. It's all preference though of course.

Wait until 1944 when every hex has 3 units in it and all sides just want the unit density to go down. Some folks want divisions for the specialty flavor they allow in operations, but want a lower counter density. So they play 2d10 with ‘first loss must be a corps’.

After a precipitous advance during summer 1941, forces of German Army Group North struggled against stubborn Soviet resistance to isolate and start the siege of the Leningrad before the onset of winter. Finlay after som heavy fighting during August the, German forces reached the city’s suburbs and the shores of Lake Ladoga, severing Soviet ground communications with the city. Thus achiving the the first major goal of the Army Group.
In the strategy room new bold Arrows are drawn.

After crushing the first-line few Soviet armies in brutal cauldron battles at the border, the steamroller of German Army Group Center continued during the late summer of 1941 deeper into Soviet territory until the faced the bold Red Army plan to hold the Line at Vitebsk . After initsial success of the Soviet Red Army to slow the juggernaut Rundstedt order and executed lightning panzer attack on the vital forest near the vital city itself, throwing out the last Soviet defenders.
Now the road to Town itself was opened at last

Many generals favored strengthening the Army Group Center for a rapid advance on Moscow, where they believed the main enemy force to be located. There it could be destroyed, they thought, bringing a Clausewitzian total victory. But Oberkommando des Heeres (OKH) ,refused. Instead, they strengthened Army Group South, taking away men and resources from Army Group Center in order to make it ready for the assault on Kiev. But Guderian failed to unitiles the resources due to bad weather and short summer weeks and just mangaged to reach the opposite shores of Dnieper before being stoped by the Red Army.
