Hello...Can you guys clarify something regarding WitPAE updates. Can I just put in the latest update in the game along with the base game or put all of the updates in the game. On the members list for updates I see two updates the latest being Nov. 2016. Am I to watch a beta update vs. something else as an update. Say I put al the updates in the game in chronological order is that a problem because some of them are beta which are separate. Someone said to me just download the latest update and that will be good. Well the is the latest update on the members list and there's also the unofficial but trusted link for the latest patch too in the forums. So if I just put those two in then that will be Ok? Please elaborate thank you.

From the initial game release, the last official update was version 11.24 (around 2012?) There were then a series of betas that changed and improved various features that took the game from 11.24 through 11.25 to 11.26a and 11.26b. The latter two are available, one by download from the Matrix site and the 11.26b by using a link in the stickied part of the tech section on this forum.

I am unclear if 11.26a includes all the updates that were in 11.24, so I updated first to 11.24 and then to 11.25a. I did not feel the need to get the latest beta 11.26b.

If you do get 11.26b, the game installer creates a directory called Beta-2 that the game is installed in. I don't know if that includes all the files that you have from the base game and official patch or whether you need to set that up. I think that is the confusion around the 11.26b install - otherwise it should be pretty seamless.
Korvar's latest work on his Seabee install assistant program has discussion of the beta install and how to do it using Seabee.

greenmoray1, I already told you.

1. Fresh install of "vanilla" Witp AE either from DVD/CD or digital file.

2. Install the latest official update WITP Admiral's Edition v1.01.24 Official Update (Posted: 16 MAR 2015) from here

This update is important as it brings support for fullscreen mode for different screen resolutions.

3. Install the latest beta patch from here ( first post in the thread has the beta patch as the attachment)

4. Read the WhatsNew file in the games's main folder to understand what switches do and start adding switches to your beta exe file's shortcut ( I always put the exe shortcut on desktop)

My switches look like this (I bolded the beta folder and the exe file):

"C:\Matrix Games\War in the Pacific Admiral's Edition\Beta2\War in the Pacific Admiral Edition.exe" -altFont -skipVideo -archive -deepColor -dd_sw -px1600 -py900
