My Ironman Nasty Ported to Babes scenario just turned over the December 1st, 1945 turn.

Mukden fell yesterday. Forts at Keijo are level 1 and the base will fall on the next attack, leaving the Russians with nothing to do for the last 4 months of the war.

They already sent three Sapper brigades to help the Chinese take Peiping, the last major base the Japanese hold in China.

The 6th Guards Tank Army and 25th Army are at Fusan. I have several large American amphibious TFs at Fusan along with a SupDiv carrying 250K supply. As soon as the supply is dumped I can start loading the Tank Army for use on Honshu, if I choose to introduce them there.

They aren't needed on Sakhalin as I am already in the process of transporting the 15th Army there with Russian transports to complete the reduction of Toyohara.

Honshu is already getting crowded as I am pouring every available LCU into the two ports I have taken. I have every Allied nationality on Honshu except the Chinese and Russians. Might be fun to let them participate.

The important thing to take note of here is that Russian LCUs can load on Allied transports!!!!

I'm not sure if you can mix Russians with other nations, or even unload them at non-Russian Base. There is some specific code for them, but you should definitely try every possible combination, so we all know what can be done.

Russian LCUs are free to use when unrestricted, I've noticed no limitations in my games. Except the usual wanting some particular (non-russian) command for the next captured base

I forget where the Russian units fit into the sequence of national troops - I think they come after US and British troops - so if you want to capture a base but not have it come under Russian administration, include some troops of another nation that come earlier in the stack list. The Command HQ of the first unit in the stack determines ownership on capture, whether that unit has AV or not.

I've used Russians on Honshu before. I've had no issues if the captured base has a Russian flag or any other flag -- you can station any air units there. As far as I know, base nationality only matters if you want to get the full effect of an air HQ.

By the way, Chinese units are great for meeting garrison requirements in Japan.

Cheers,
CB

At the tome . the allies had given the USSR a battleship, light cruiser , and several sizable naval vessels. After that , who's going to object to giving them a "ride" in some allied landing craft?

Stalin would send any troops (who had contact with the allies) to a labor camp as soon as the war was over.

Yeah, the Russian base can be used by other Allied squadrons, but coordination is affected by not being under the same administration, n'est çe pas?
