AI is able to strategically transfer cutten off divisions. I could not find anything in RuleVars or events of anewdawn3.at2 to disable such miraculous transfers. Can anybody give me a hint where to look?

You can change the rulevar for the AI getting free transfers. That should do it. The way the game functions AFAIK is that the hexes that cannot be transferred into are set to a very high value (something you wouldn't be able to transfer through cause of lack of transfer points). If you remove the free transfers, you get rid of that, would be my best guess.

My setting for that rulevar is
253,1,AI: AIs free land transfer. 0=free, 1=normal rules also for AI
the setting is (1)
So i believe that is not the case.

Well, that was one theory. I'll try and come up with another that can be used as a fix. In the meantime, how was the unit isolated? Was it surrounded, or could it (in theory) receive reinforcements from a sea hex (even though no port was there)? If this is the case, you can disable that option too in the rulevars. (I think it is called overland transfer).

Well originally there was a pocket with 4 enemy divisions in it, separated by a single hex of my territory from their HQ's and supply network. The next turn i found no enemy divisions in the pocket, according to last turn history - they were all transferred back to the contiguous enemy land. I loaded the autosave and made the gap two-hexes wide and packed with troops of my own (see the screenshot attached)and after i ended the turn - the same thing happened. According to AI log file - it was a strategic transfer. I can upload the AI log file in my next post

And by the way thank you for your help trying to solve the issue, really appreciate that.

Is this a random game or a scenario?

This is an edited random game. It uses the default anedawn3.at2 with slightly adjusted rulevars . Attached is AI log file with that transfer logged. The formation in question is 104th Division.

I personally don't play new dawn but in vanilla and my many modified scenarios from Vics site I have never seen what you describe. Perhaps it is a unique situation directly related to New Dawn.

I don't think it is unique to new dawn. What is happening might be that the AI is disbanding the forces, and it just says something else in the logs. Disbanding forces when they serve no purpose any more is a good way of making sure you get resources back, as well as PPs for the formations.

However there might be another explanation, which I am not aware of.

I have played many newdawn3 games where I have created pockets of trapped AI units. I have never seen them be 'magically' transferred out or disbanded. I have always had to destroy them by attacking.

There might be an explanation I did not think of before now. I noticed that your encirclement is not complete. If somehow the event coding was made so that it switched on the free transfer for the AI, that would explain it. You can check this out by looking at the rulevars, while in the game.

I'm not sure what you mean by complete encirclement, human player would not be able to transfer that division. Regime with the blue border is neutral (at peace, not allied) with both yellow and orange regimes.
