Gentlemen,

in case any of you has a game (preferably stock, preferably some point of time in 42, but early 43 would also be acceptable) as IJ that came or is coming to a stop because your Allied opponent quit for whatever reason (including SCLS) and said opponent would be willing to provide his password, I would be interested to have a look at the game and likely take over to get some more experience in later phases of the war.

As some of you may recall, I previously took over the West coast invasion game, which unfortunately ended with IJ quitting. It would have been very interesting to play that one out.

I am not a turn machine, so we would probably be looking at 3-4 turns/week, depending also on time zone and state of the game (I am at GMT+1 play mostly late in the evening and have found that finding turns in my mail inbox in the morning (my time) leads to the quickest exchange rates.

Hoping for offers by pm or in this thread

Hartwig

Oh what a cruel jest ! To lure me to this place
so full of expectation, full of hope to find
a gentlemanly challenge, gaming, race -
instead, I find an all-remeb’ring mind
that uses what I once wrote here,
to bring my spirit down by friendly jeer.

*)

*)I was about to write that without a pickup game I'd have to pick up not just falling leaves, but writing Haiku about fall and falling leaves when I realized that just wouldn't go well with my desire for a game as Allied

I guess the only way to achieve that would have been not marrying their daugther .

And miss out on having a Herr Doktor as a son in law, I don't think that would have pleased them.

With perfect hindsight, it definitely would have pleased them to miss out this specific specimen .

Gentlemen,

got my pickup game - 45 instead of 42, Japan instead of Allied, but I could not resist Obvert's offer to pick up the game against him, I am sure I will learn a lot in this match. We are in process of getting this started by now. Therefore, for now I have the game I was looking for.

Still, please take mental note of my interest in picking up a game with the parameters I mentioned initially, which persists and do not hesitate to ask me if I have time in case you should lose your Allied opponent in the future.

Thanks

Hartwig
