Well hello there all, it's been probably forever since I've been around. So I figured I'd check in if anyone cares.

Sat nite, I was committed (yes I said it, and you read it correctly). I used some inappropriate wording in the forum and you guys cared too dam$ much. I got dragged off by 6 SP's directly to the hospital who then in turn transfered me downtown for manditory observation at 0400 under thw Baker Act guidelines. At noon 4 shrinks observed me and told me I had one of the best games of ping pong the've every seen. They determined me to be no more insane than any other Active Miltary member who's has spent more time away from home in 18.5 years, after seeing 2 Wars/1 Shield and about different 19+ conflicts. I was release to my First Sgt.
Monday I had my Tonsillectomy and UPPP surgery for my sleep apnea, today I had enough strentgh to make it off the couch after watching the History channel and war DVD's non-stop for 4 days now and over to the computer. I graduated today to Ice Cream and I hoping to have a Hot Dog on the 4th. Up till now I've been reserved to sipping small amounts of fruit juice and sports drinks, no chewing or swalling.

To all of you THANKS, I was not going to do anything so rash, but you had no way of knowing that. Again I thank you all for caring. This doesn't mean I'm back, I don't know if I'll ever return fully. After seeing too much world violence lately I've really lost my taste and edge for wargamming. I'm not playing any other games now either but wargamming is the hardest to swallow.

I figured it was the least I could do was to stop in and say HI.

So HI!;) ;) ;) ;) :p

Mike,

It's great to see a post from you. :)

Take all the time you need to get things straightened out...and as for a "return"...that is up to you my friend. You do what is best for you and nothing else.

However, you should always remember that you can stop in here just to chat...and not play the game. You have friends here and we don't come only with the game...we are here to talk about anything, anytime, if the need be. ;)

Take care...good luck...our best wishes are always with you my friend!!!

Most excellent, big guy. I'm glad to see you're no more insane than one of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children. Thank you for letting us know, man.

It would be nice to be able to keep in touch, but if you can't--like we all said, man, do what you gotta' do. We'll respect you all the more.

You see? People DO read your posts! :)

That was only because you admitted to being a moderator here. They figured anyone who would volunteer try to ride herd on THIS bunch needed observation! :)

The docs are after bigger game... They heard about our own little lunatic fringe here... the M4 Lovers. ;)

One of the worst parts of going to the hospital and having surgery is that by the time you get enough strength back to chase the cute nurses they discharge you. :(

Hey, don't mention it Mike... Only TRUE friends would get you dragged out of your home at 4 AM by 6 Security Police, and then committed for observation. Happens to me all the time... But they don't let me play ping pong anymore, not after "The Paddle Incident" ;)

Can I get a hug?

Nice to have you back, even if it's just for a moment. Be well.

Be happy, Mike. Time is too short. Life is too short. It is wonderful to just be alive.

Find what it takes to love and laugh. That at nearly 67 is what I try to do everyday. I don't always succeed, but there is the next day to try again.

My heart and spirit are with you my friend. That is more important than any "advice" I could give. You have probably had enough of that for two lifetimes.

Your friend,

Bill

Well Mike, if you were just testing our 'reflexes', you now know they work! ;) I hope the sleep apnea surgery fixed the problem too...some uninterrupted down-time (a peaceful night's sleep) will surely do you wonders. Wishing you all the best.

It's great to hear from you, Mike! While none of us will die just because you're not playing wargames anymore, I hope that you will drop by and say hello once in a while. Friends are too important to lose one over a game!:)

You are first rate in my book, and I hope you can get everything squared away in your life soon!

I hope you have two hotdogs today! Take care and all the best to you and your's!

Eric Maietta

Some probably think Matrix Games is about wargaming. Likely a weird notion someone named David has been spreading hehe :)

Really its just a place guys with funny names like to hang out, because we all think the same way (well hmm some of you guys likely don't have half the thoughts in yer head that I do hehe).

There is life after wargaming (hmm no one will believe I just said that).

I like wargaming, but actually I enjoy the company in here just as much.
