I think the French campaign is also super difficult to pull of historically in a game of this scale because you're looking at an area just a couple hexes deep by 6-8 long and there's only so much you do with ZoC and such.

Also, I did pull off a similar cutoff in my first game and I think they were still shipping supplies in via Dunkirk, so.... V

Well if you played me and I played the French historically you would get them to surrender in June. But the A.I. isn't playing as foolishly. So it will be later. On the other hand you can do a lot of stuff afterwards.

I have seen "historical" AI level so I expect it to behave like Gamelin...

I reached the sea in one turn in my first game by focusing all my armor and mech on that goal. Both of my armor units had Engineer upgrade which I think helped. I did not manage to do it in the second game however as I decided to go south towards Paris with my armor and mop up the low countries with inf.
