Status: offline 		I have 2 PBEMs going, along with an AI game (as I try to learn the Japanese economy). Each involves a different mod. I have sometimes messed up and sent the wrong game save to opponents. I am struggling a bit with how to keep things separate.

I have gone the route of separate full installs and separately named game files. This keeps two of my games separate. However, for one of the PBEMs that did not work. My "Bottlenecks" game file won't open...I get the Fatal 100 error. So I am running it in a game file that does work, but it has a different name, with a different game save file where there are other game saves. And I occasionally mess up, with the resultant time lost for both players as I get things sorted out

Looking for some advice.

First, is there any way to change the default game save destination after an install? Can I redirect my "Bottlenecks" saves to a unique directory file?

Second, what are your best practices regarding keeping several games separate from each other?

Third, why would some of my separate full installs work properly, and not others? I have tried the other suggested method of copying an installed game and renaming but can't seem to get this working.

If anyone has suggestions on these issues, I would be grateful.

Status: offline 		Ideally, each mod should have it's very own game folder with its own installation, and those should be separate from the stock folder. Your shortcuts should be clearly distinguished from each other. If you have a large number of them you might have a desktop folder containing all the shortcuts. Each shortcut should reference your opponent in that game, and if you're playing the same opponent in different games make it clear which shortcut goes to which game. Keep copies of each turn for seven turns in a row or more, and try to keep copies of your correspondence in your email folders for a similar length of time so you can fix any mix-ups. I've never actually had more than one game going at one time, so what do I know? Someone will fix any misstatements I made.

Status: offline 		I have a number of different installs. On my desktop I have a single folder called WitP AE. Inside of it I have a number of folders that are for each game I want to be able to access. That keeps all my files separate for each other, and since my opponents want to use different exe files, that allows that also.

On occasion I have had the same problem as you, a copied file does not want to work. I have chosen to just do a new install each time. I have all the necessary files on my storage hard disk so it only takes a couple of minutes to do. In addition I am assured that I have not copied some extra baggage to my new installation.

Status: offline 		You don't have to go through full installs to get full games in separate folders.

Copying works fine once the game has been installed once.

I have separate game folders for Stock, Babes and Focus Pacific.

I simply copied my Stock install to new folders, installed the files for the various mods and created shortcuts for each.

This also keeps your Stock install intact and unmodified.

Status: offline 		Thanks. That would be my preferred approach as well. However, it has been a hit and miss thing with me for some reason. At least 50% of the time I would end up with Fatal 100 errors (whatever they are) that would not allow the copy to run.

Status: offline 		This is what the DBB sub-folder looks like with the Stock game copied and and then changed with the mod files installed.

Keeping the original Stock folder as a sub folder of DBB makes everything work fine and saved games going to the correct sub-folder.

Currently splitting time between AE, The Witcher (first one) and Silent Hunter.

I love playing campaigns in SH.

I have the Witcher 3, but haven't yet loaded it.

Played a couple of campaigns in War in the East a year ago, but found War in the West disappointing.
