I played it and WOFF a lot and thought ROF was superior in flight characteristics and airplane graphics. The sequel of sorts to that is called Flying Circus, it�s a module for the newer version of IL-2 Sturmovik. If you have an account with ROF purchases on it you can even get a discount, or at least I did when I bought it.

By the way, IL-2 Sturmovik is really good, though mostly focused on the Eastern Front. They�re gradually working through West front stuff now. I wonder if they will ever hit the same amount of content as Sturmovik 1946, the older sim where you could play an entire career as a pilot in literally every imaginable theater of the war.

Sure, I played both, but that was the issue RoF had nice flight and damage models but lack the rest for me...
The immersion factor and the campaign.

Exactly this. For all of RoF's fidelity, it's dry and doesn't keep my interest.
You can lose yourself in WOFF.

If you're still looking for the best flight sim, DCS World could be worth of checking out.

Looks like it would be too much for me. What? I'm a working adult. I have no time to study military jets and everything that go with them.

The new MS Flight Simulator was just announced today to be coming out August 18th as well. Looks epic.
