I used to watch Monty Python all of the time. A few months ago BBC America had a Python-thon, and it was so great to recalling all of those skits.

Terry was also a historian and I remember seeing his show on medieval lives. He brought his knowledge and humor along and made the topic rather interesting!

quote:

Terry Jones, who earned a spot in comedic lore as a member of the British troupe Monty Python and also had success as a director, screenwriter and author, died on Tuesday night at his home in the Highgate neighborhood of North London. He was 77.

One of the best. Python (Monty) warped my brain from an early age. I'll miss him dearly, as I do Graham Chapham.

Yes a real loss to the world of comedy.

Unfortunately, he wasn't as well known for his interest in history. His book "Medieval Lives" is a very readable account of life in the Middle Ages and well worth a look.

A sad day. Maybe I should watch the Holy Grail again . . .

Greetings to All,
My high school years were spent faithfully watching Monty Python on PBS and Rowan & Martin's Laugh In.
Absolutely loved Monty Python and the Holy Grail when I saw it at the drive in (remember those anyone?) twice.
Never laughed so hard when the knight went to slay the rabbit and the ruckus that followed.
And of course the "answer these questions three" at the bridge over the gorge.
So sad he is gone.

First watched Python on PBS, which imported the troupe's episodes as a fund raiser for the network.

I grew up watching Monty Python's Flying Circus on the BBC.

Terry Jones was a great talent and will be sadly missed.

Death: "2 down, 4 to go". If you saw the Mostly Live show you know what that means.
