September 1942: With air superiority firmly established, a combination of armored corps and bombers take Konigsberg and Danzig in one turn. As the ports remained at least 5 supply, transports carrying reinforcements were able to use the port the same turn it was captured. Berlin is not far now, though Winter will be setting in soon.

Despite axis counterattacks severely injuring and even destroying some tank corps, the Russians press forward with reckless abandon

Sian falls. Using shift-leftclick, I sacrifice the flying tigers in order to better reposition my army and antiair.

October 1942:

US tanks land in Latvia.

Axis forces abandon most positions along the Dneiper. Allied forces take position along the Vistula. Thanks to our level 4 industrial tech, the USA is getting 1100 MPPs per turn and the USSR around 700.

December 1942:

Despite Allied attempts, Axis forces stubbornly cling onto Warsaw. It looks like the Germans are not going down without a fight

January 1943:

Although the British took Warsaw, it does not appear that Poland can be liberated by the Western Allies. USSR morale did increase after taking the city.

I am also using strategic bombers whenever I can to strike at Germany's resources. Coupled with the intense losses from the Allied offensive, it is unlikely that Germany can sustain reinforcing all of its troops.

They cannot. However, because Clausewitz annexed Lithuania, it is considered to be Axis territory rather than former USSR territory. As a result, the western allies are able to use that territory to get supply.

Clausewitz has agreed to surrender, as we both acknowledge that there are no more educational opportunities for this AAR. Please let me know if anyone has any questions

Great read!
1. Was there any action in Pacific later on? Did Japan tried something sneaky? China seemed to be doomed, so Japan probably had some resources to allocate.
2. Do you remember your US research path? First industrial tech and S&I, to build some sort of engine, or you went with military at once?
3. To your humble opponent - what would you change in hindsight?

1. Not much action in the Pacific, Japan took the usual targets.
2. Always research as the USA. Until 1942 (or whenever the USA enters the war) you should never build anything as the USA until you can no spend MPPs on research. Build strategic bombers first

Research priorities for the USA are as follows:

Drop artillery weapons. Maybe drop amphibious warfare depending on your plan. However, depending on where you plan to focus your effort as the USA, you might want to start amphib researchy early

ground attack > advanced tanks > advanced aircraft > industrial tech x2 > long-ranged aircraft x2 > heavy bombers x2 > production tech x2 > logistics x2 > aerial warfare > armored warfare > C&C x2 > anti-tank > infantry weapons

I think only one of the Allied countries needs to get S&I to negate the enemy research bonus, so I usually do it with the UK.

I see people get infantry weapons early as the USA, but that is not necessary as the US will likely be building mostly aircraft and tanks until the end of 1942. You should time your infantry weapons upgrade for whenever you actually start building infantry

It's frustrating reading these AAR's where the Pacific gets no action nor commentary. Right now I am concerned about Naval Cruise, aka Hyperspace Movement, allowing both sides, but the IJN especially with their interior lines, to warp their entire fleet to any troublespots very quickly. Plus I want to see how the tactical side plays out; I suspect the first faction to cross the frontier is going to get hit, hard, so we might see both sides sliding a DD or CL along the border (with the bulk of the fleet one turn away in the fog of war) to try to get a reaction from the enemy.

There was almost no action in the Pacific. And most of my naval resources were brought to help versus Germany rather than Japan. Plus, this AAR was made mostly to help players learn how to use the USSR.

An interesting strategy that someone could do is to have the UK declare war on the Japanese before the USA joins the war, and attempt to sink as many Japanese carriers as possible.

Maritime bombers with range tech are able to spot enemy fleet before they can engage you. If Japan plants some planes on these Pacific archipelagos, it's hard to push with US from island to island, because japanese fleet can react flexibly and use ports for cover.
Or some old-fashioned scouting with subs can do the trick.

This would have been a more interesting game had the weather in Scandinavia not been permissive in Nov 1941. This was atypical, but it allowed HamburgerMeat to attack and conquer Sweden and position bombers soon after and western allied ground forces to intervene in Russia in Spring 1942. One shouldn't count on permissive weather for air sorties in the north after Sept.

Attacking Sweden can still be a good move, but had the weather been bad, HamburgerMeat would have had to wait until Spring, and the ongoing action of Russia would have been more insightful and reflective of what one could expect with normal weather. That said, for German not to invade Norway is a blunder that invited the UK to pursue a northern strategy- this blunder was compounded by very lucky weather for the allies.
