Good evening! I am playing my first PBEM game against someone I don't "know." It is the 1939 Storm Over Europe scenario and I am the Axis. I attacked Poland on my first turn, and this is now the second turn. As I advanced adjacent to Warsaw on the second turn I found a 9 strength army with 4/5 entrenchment occupying the Capitol, and a Corps in Modlin with 4/6 entrenchment. Since a garrison occupies both of those hexes at the start of the game, how is this level of entrenchment even possible? I don't want to jump to any conclusions prematurely, so would like to get the thoughts of some experienced players. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Regards

When swapping a unit (CTRL+SHIFT) entrenchment is maintained albeit with -1 entrenchment penalty.

There is an army south of Warsaw that it is important to damage, either with your tank or aircraft, on the first turn to prevent him from swapping it into his capital. You will learn with experience, in the meantime, if taking Poland takes an extra turn or 2, it's not the end of the world. Unless you are trying the ole' "operate everything back to France and attack in 1939" strategy, it does not matter that much. It is still early in the match.
