Facts of the case:

July 1940, I'm playing Germany. France is out of the game.

Luftwaffe wipes up contents of London
Paratroops take London
I don't get the Port with Paratroops
Land AV Corp North of London
Port does not switch, guessing that hex does not connect to port of London (there's no Brits touching it, except empty city Southeast)

Now the real question:

End of my turn, the Russians go bonkers and instant DOW? WTF? I have opponents SeaLion on me, they have Beerfest, Singing, Campfires half of dozen Nazi units in England for 6-months, I cannot even get the Yanks or Russians budge 3%. Obviously I triggered something. So my guess:

Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria have not joined, that it?

Has USSR mobilization been increasing since 1939 due to a lack of troops around Warsaw?

No, I had units at Warsaw. If I remember correctly, had 4 units within 2 hexes of Warsaw.

So when I took London on Paratroop drop, after I clicked "End Turn", the Russia scrub units started to appear, so I said "Oh sh-it".

But when I play Allies and get SeaLion'ed, like in our game, I get no movement outta USA/Russia. So, I must have screwed up something. Or clearly don't understand. I asked my opponent, he stated (assume it's a 'He', not sure of any chicks playing this game), that "I gave him the opportunity".

so, the question is, taking London, does the Eastern Front requirements change, or had I done something to make Ivan-Joe snap? It happened at the end of my turn. End of my turn, defined as, soon as I pushed "end turn", them Reds started to populate. I took London in July 1940.

Curious: what is an "AV Corp".
I thought ports change ownership the next player turn after the player captured the port. I could be wrong; usually am.

I thought "ghosted" was a player that just disappeared on your without any message, which seems unlikely here. What do you mean "ghosted".

The Russian result seems counter intuitive. Unless it was a gremlin it will require a designer explanation.

BTW tough break. You are a crime victim of the crime of unintended consequences.

AV Corp = Amphibious Vehicle (short range) Corp
Yeah, Ports change next turn. I'm always in a hurry and a very demanded arm-chair tough guy General.
"Ghosted" has a few meanings. Can get ghosted by an opponent, someone who won't PM (Private Message) or at least resign at a minimum a game when getting ass kicked.
In this case, my thread was ghosted, until I got some responses.
Maybe the Nazis didn't have enough troops by Warsaw, I doubt it, in 40 games, never had a problem. Have done other SeaLions, no problem. Figured one of the Cookie Cutter students would know.
And finally, FrogMan, we are all heroes and victims in the year 2020 :) All is fair in Love & War. (Divorce & Business in 2020).

Wanna game?

From my short game experience, I realized that Sealion raises the Soviet mobilization quite quickly.

As for ports, I already noticed that sometimes they don’t always change ownership when we move a unit to the adjacent town, but if we move a unit back and forth it changes, sometimes it also changes in the next turn.

Tulius, yeah, the ports are like that. Even when taking an empty sands of Iwo Jima with John Wayne and the fighting Seebees. Maybe I'm just whinning. I've been SeaLion'ed and Nazis are camped in England; notta, the % won't move. I just think about SeaLion and the meter starts running. Was shocked in this game.

The USSR only needs to get to 90% and then will automatically increase to eventually join. They will get a bump for your Sealion invasion and the only thing I can think of is that they were either high enough prior to that so this bump got them to 90%, or there were other possible actions that brought them up to a higher mobilization such as not garrisoning the eastern front as HamburgerMeat mentioned, or a combination of the two.

Difficult to say for sure without seeing the full game turns in action.

I'll chalk it upto not enough units near Warsaw. Very odd, since I paratrooped into London very, very early. July 1940 turn to be exact. Was guessing had something to do with Axis Minors not joined yet & getting London. Oh well, moving on. Will pay better attention next time.

Three other thoughts:

If you pulled Japanese units out of Manchuria, that can bump Russian Mobilization

Or if you DoW'd Mongolia, I think it might boost them too.

And of course, Indian Diplomats can often show up in Moscow.
