December 30th major events:
This day was marked by three separate naval engagements, two south of Singapore and one at Adak island.
-A DD TF intercepts and sinks the rest of the 2 DMS between Palembang and Sinkawang, of which the third was presumably sunk on December 29th. Then it engages 2DDs protecting 3 xAKs at Sinkawang, who were apparently loading combat troops. The 2 experienced Japanese DDs fought well to protect the transports, of which none sank. 2 Allied DDs were heavily damaged and the rest somewhat less, and in the afternoon phase Japanese bombers attempted to torpedo them, all missing.
-In the Aleutians, a CL/DD TF based on CL Trenton intercepted an empty convoy of 2 old DDs and 3xAPs at Adak Island and sank all of them. In return, DD Sands was sunk in return.
-I-8 puts 2 torpedoes into CA Louisville, north of Koumac.
-Netties torpedo some HDMLs at Rangoon.
