I have a vague recollection of seeing one of this for the previous version of this game, but cannot find it now.

Does anyone have a list of tasks they do each turn? Essentially, something that gives a bit of a framework on what you should do each turn and a semblance of order to do it?

Thanks in advance.

My to-do list usually goes like this ;
1) Check Carriers; CV and escort fuels , airgroups missions and percentages , floatplanes , ASW Ammo on escort ships
2) Active combat zones; check if units are in the correct mode for whatever they are doing (combat, move, strat mod, rest etc.), check if airgroups attacking correct target , check if bombers have escorts , check recon groups , pilot replacements , base building etc.
3) After i am done with active combat zones i go by theater per theater for example: Off-map bases > India > China > DEI > Australia > Pacific islands > Hawaii > West Coast. This way i am double checking active combat zones , it minimizes risk of missing important stuff.

It is a function of a few things, including:
- number of other people in the house
- number of beers consumed
- proximity to midnight
- what just happened in the combat replay

I divide the map up into regions and check all the squadrons in one region each turn. I like to have visited each squadron at least once every game week. Activate all the arrived replacement crews. Order more replacement crews as needed. About half of my squadrons do nothing but train, and I don't keep all the training squadrons in the Home Islands. I keep squadrons that are doing advanced training closer to the front line in case I need to activate them temporarily. By advanced training I mean training in skills that are secondary to the primary mission but desirable. For instance I eventually want all fighter pilots to be trained in naval attack (I avoid ground attack with fighters, I view it as too expensive given limited results). Bomber squadrons who may have ground attack as their primary mission may train in ASW, naval search, and naval attack. I train to skill level 70 and then "graduate" pilots and replace them. Some squadrons near the front may give refresher courses to pilots who've slipped a bit in one skill while training or working another skill. In some categories training on the job is desirable. Squadrons that maintain ASW in a given area are examples. They may go a long time without seeing a sub so have maybe 20% of the squadron hunting while 60% train. Normally training occurs with squadrons set for range = 0 to reduce fatigue, so in such split work/train squadrons I keep 20 to 30% resting. I don't hang on to fully trained ASW crews unless the area is active. If you're perpetually bombing a certain enemy base I "graduate" the crews with the highest skill levels (say 80%) and rotate in pilots whose skill levels are in the 60s. Working frontline squadrons may need to be rotated in and out. Some areas of the front may not be efficient in receiving aircraft replacements, so cycle them back to bases where that occurs more efficiently and replace them with full strength squadrons.

I usually feed any cats since they really don't like me shoving things in their mouths. I do put food out for them to eat it as they want.

It also depends upon whether or not you are playing Japanese since you would also have industry to manage.

Check your turn summary and see what has happened. Did units come in? If so, go to that base and give them orders. Can ships still repair where they are at in the mode that they are in? If not, then either change the mode so they can repair or get them to where they can get repaired.

I keep a small notepad and take notes of things I need to take care of or look at during the turn run. If my bombers had been flying, I jot down the area they were flying from.

I take care of the things noted.
Check the fatigue levels of my bombers and stand them down if over 10.
I briefly scan through the ops report for nuggets of info or more things to be taken care of, like tf out of fuel.
I check on major operations that are running {like the 5 division invasion force moving on the Philippines}.
I then tour the map. I start at Pearl Harbor, move to Midway, up to Aleutians, down the West Coast, across the pacific and into Burma/SE Asia.

Interspersed with all this is fluid intake. Intake of solids occurs while the turn is being run. Getting rid of excess fluids/solids happens after the next turn....or maybe the one after that.....

Allied Supreme Commander vs AI -

(with fair degree of obsessive compulsive disorder)

1) Check Score

Especially review Air Groups withdrawing
Especially review Ships withdrawing
Check Ship availability <sort by date>
Check Air Group Availability
Check Land Unit Re-enforcement schedule

2) Check "All Land based Air Units"

Scan for "reds" i.e. under pilot capacity

3) Check "All Naval Air Units"

Scan for "reds" i.e. under pilot capacity

4) Check Operations Report

Confirm what arrived and where

5) Check SigInt

Generally I mostly just scan for radio signal detected a "hex XX - YY" - great indication of subs and enemy task forces

6) Optional Check Combat log / Check Weather Forecast

Probably already at top of mind or insufficiently accurate

--

Assuming you have divided your Map review into Commands i.e.: (i) West Coast / (ii) POA / (iii) South Pacific / (iv) SW Pac / (v) US Far East / (vi) China / (vii) Burma India you will probably navigate the map like a radio wave - Up - Down - Up -Down from say east most edge to west most edge.
--

7) Immediately scan all critical units at the point of spear in Command Area i.e. Pacific Oceans Area

Carrier Task Forces on maneuver
Ground Combat Units in Amphibious Landing Mode / Combat
Units disengaging

8) Check areas and give order all other units

9) Confirm all ports with cargo loading / confirm Air Support sufficient each base.

10) Confirm all units desired upgrading etc

11) Transition to next command area i.e. South Pacific in this example.

Yes

13) Tell Spouse at 11:59pm "go to bed I just have to finish this turn"

Endure exasperated stare.

Playing Japan 1941/42 or Allies 1944/45: Watch the replay, have a whisky to congratulate yourself, do the orders phase.

Playing Allies 1941/42 or Japan 1944/45: Have a whisky, grit your teeth, watch the replay, have another whisky, carry on with the orders phase.

I tend to have a cycle of map areas, and in each map area will work backwards from the crucial point of contact. Some things are time sensitive but others are not so I tend to do (either every 5 or ten days) stuff in the backwaters and home ports. It also varies enormously with the context of the game... in mid 1945 I only have two areas on the map I actually need to spend any thinking on.

I am just learning to speak Japanese, as it were. Just now to 12/31/41 in PBEM. I had printouts for guidance initially, and keep tabular notes for each next days to do. Some of those hang around forever and get transferred to a long term list. I also made up a strategic plan before turn one for conversions and garrisons. Strangely, nothing ever seems to go as planned . . . ? I will continue to strive towards alignment of subordinate units with higher HQ. If that is not an outright LIE it ought to be at least a CRIME

Here is my list:

0.Save new turn, exit WITP:AE , restart WITP;AE. When you process a turn and hit ESC key to speed up text messages or combat reports, there is a memory leak later, and on the next turn map scrolling and clicking is sluggish
1. Click Intel report and check ships sunk and aircraft lost
2. Click Ground airgroups and check for units at 40% training (this are the new groups that enter on map, the game automatically sets them to 40% training)
3. Check air groups that fly Supply missions (it is easier than looking by Transports and Bombers) – find those groups, check weather for the next turn - if R(ain) or T(hunderstorms) stand down the groups to avoid losses from bad weather
4. Click Ships icon and check ships for damage. If there are too many ships in the list, first do the ships with most damage, and then select SS to see only subs - reroute to bases those with at least 10 system damage
5.Click Operations Report and see what new ships and LCUs arrive on map - go to those units and give orders
6. Save the turn in the Tracker slot (mostly slot 004) and then copy the save file to Tracker folder and Load the turn into Tracker
7.See Alerts for Ships - find the ships that finished repairs
8.See Alerts for LCUs - see units which reached destination (you can highlight the units in Tracker and CTRL+C them ,and then copy them to a Word document - added 05 2020
8b.Check your CV TFs which mostly are at sea and can be easily overlookd.

9.Go to the map and do ships in the bases from left to right (Cape Town, Abadan, Bombay, Colombo, Calcutta, Chittagong, Port Hedland, Darwin, Perth, Townsville, Sydney, Sale, Pago, PH, Juneau, Seattle, San Fran, LA, San Diego)

10. Check combat units in battles to see what can be changed (orders, leaders , repalcemsnt ,arty bombardments etc)

As you can see, folks develop their individual styles based on success or lack thereof. For what its worth, here is how I approach each turn as an allied fan boy:

I have my trusty ipad at my side which I use for two purposes: I have a file with standing tasks (eg. AG or ship withdrawal, sub damage, recon results, TOE upgrade schedules, ships due updates, TFs that don't have enough fuel, AGs stood down due to fatigue, low garrisons) as well as notes of things I noticed during combat.

1. Check intelligence report.
2. Check sigint report.
3. Check operations report for new tasks that need to be done and check on new arrivals, etc. - I do this from the "save folder" so that I can cut and paste into another file (not the ipad one)
4. I move around the screen clockwisse starting at the Aleutions and ending at China to visit key bases and especially combat areas and key TFs such as my carriers.
5. Complete tasks from the ipad file that need doing this turn.
6. Complete tasks taken from the operations report.

Obviously, the Japanese player will have additional tasks in managing logistics that the allied player doesn't have to worry about.

Once per month, I check all AGs for needed pilots and especially any training units to harvest pilots for the front lines. I'll also check the "bases" tabs for any shortages, but not much you can do for the Chinese supply!
