I have been doing that but the staring stockpile was a few hundred thousand supply and I am very short of Army bombers !!! the allies have so many long range fighters that he can and has put 100+ P38's in ambushes at various points on the map anywhere I fall into a pattern costs me so I am constantly trying to change patters but I get it wrong

CENTPAC operations underway to finally take Wake and Midway

SOPAC Attacking New Cal but lots of Frensh Fighters and SCTF's about

SWPAC stuck heavies bombing PM constantly and nothign I have can touch them - trying an ambush this turn with my newly arrived A6M8's

DEI invading Sumatra and Souther Borneo mopping up mostly

Burma remains the thorn that I am going to have to deal with soon

Capture Ceylon, Diamond Harbor, and Calcutta. The Allies may even evacuate Burma then!

Calcutta is always a nice area for the IJ to hold for 8-12 months. Gives you another 1M supply. Trick is always when to bail ... a lot of players overstay and then lose too much.

What have been your naval losses to date? What did the allies lose when you took PH?

I have access to the Allied Discord server, it's not very active at all last post was 14 days ago but I saw some of the incident's that have drain the IJA Bomber pools and I've been given a more open backstory of what happened to other events that happened (but I can't just provide the other sides vision without permission) .

Can say that the War has definably been way more bloody for the Japanese since the old leader left but the train is still pushing along against the Allies plus PH under control is really nice

I can't provide pictures of the FOW Japanese losses yet because I'm still new but I can say that the Americans have a lot of Aces, no really a lot of them.

But really losing 150 Bombers seems to be obsessive on a typical everyday Cap trap but a unescorted strike of that size should have never happened in the first place heads would be rolling's for a failure on that scale, unless the weather intervened

Hang on the CAP trap was by 150 P38's flying from BATAAN over CLARK FIELD

a didnt know he had 150 P38's never mind that he could get them to Bataan I have made many mistakes but that one was a kick in the teeth

My single biggest problem is I have too many sieges under way I need to win a few and release those forces for other operations !!

We are now in May 42 I have A6M8's in production and other air frames are approaching

Clark Field is now getting 1:2's so should fall soon
Java is almost mine 1 base in the mountains with lots of troops to take
Sumatra not got he land forces for Palembang yet but will have soon
New Cal has a lot of my forces and is turning into a major battlefield
China remains a mess
I abandoned my attack on Tahiti when I realised they were going to fight for New Cal as I need my carriers to fight in SOPAC

Does this mean you are on track for getting the F-16 into production in 1945?

Got the Rita and the Oscar IV but more importantly having production as opposed to research means my Sqns are filling up again

I made 200 Ritas using all my stockpiled engines and let them fully repair gave them the cream of my bomber pilots getting 3 - 5 a day now my engine stockpile is gone

Launched a raid from HK against Changsa where he had 400 fighters including all those annoying P38's

I swept with multiple sqns for 2 days before launching the op all A6M8'sand Tojo 2bs it cost me but his P38's one massive weakness - once damaged they are hanger queens

So I on Day 3 with total surprise I hit them we wont comment on how Changsa is a level 9 AF or could handle 600 aircraft including 400 fighters

Out of 160 available airframes about 80 found target and I lost 14 on the raid but it was worth it - it broke the Chinese AF and my opponent immediately called for the aircraft to be nerfed really really unhappy about it (300 allied aircraft destroyed on ground) !!!

Now I hate tweaking things mid campaign and I really didnt want to do it after 1 raid which had been really carefully planned and executed for total surprise but the Rita is just too fast none of the allied fighters could even catch it and I closed a level 9 AF in a day so I allowed a nerf - not overly happy about it but not going to have an opponent so unhappy

You are a gentleman. He put all his eggs in the Changsha basket and you scrambled them. He has other nearby bases to base some of his fighters, especially, but he chose to place the bulk in one place and you punished him for it. Of course the Rita was only requested as a requirement in Feb 43 and only had a few for testing by the end of the war. The Americans who flew it after the war considered it a very good aircraft with the range, Rita 4,600 and B-29 4,100; speed Rita 368 mph and B-29 358 mph; defensive fire power of the Rita 6x20mm and 4 mgs, B-29A 1x20mm and 10 mgs. The big difference is in bomb load Rita 8,800 pounds and B-29A 20,000. To be fair I would have started the war with the Liz, a Douglas DC4E air frame the Japanses bought and tried to turn into heavy bomber, though it was actually a failure. The around the begining of 1944 replace them on the production line with the Rita, like Americans used the long range B-29A in the Pacific for strategic bombing campaign vice B-17a and B-24 in ETA. That would have been far kinder to you opponent unless they get the B-29A the same time you get the Rita, which I doubt. So not only have you drawn equal to your opponent in heavy bombers but by using the Rita this early instead of the less capable Liz, you actually reversed history and the Allies find themselves behind in the strategic bomber race.

May 1942 a major battle erupted around New Caledonia

I landed 50,000 men at Kourmac and marched south 4 Divisions in the lead - unfortunately when I arrived at Noumou I discovered 1200 AV dug in at New Cal and massed heavies hitting me from Fiji and Australia I can probably still take the base if I commit but I still have other sieges under way so not sure if its worth it

The air battle was see saw I won but it cost me

The naval battles were brutal I lost
2 CVE's 4 CA's and 2 CL's and a few DD's

I destroyed 4 BC's, 1 CA and 4 CL's plus a few DD's

The question is whether New Cal is worth reinforcing - I havent decided yet - I classed this as a win but 90,000 men at noumou will be a tough siege

Now on Day 2 I decided to exit towards my vulnerable transports - day 1 was a draw but a draw is a bad result for Japan at this stage

I had 2 intact TF's and 1 damaged with about 800 carrier aircraft so I departed towards Christmas Island

The next night my opponent sent about 15 single ship TF's into the same hex as me and they caused mayhem damaging carriers using up all my ops points stopping me moving and basically totally dominating the battle getting through y TF's with total ease I had seent 3 x 3/4 ship TF's to try and get in amongst his Carriers to delay them and cause some mayhem but had stopped it there because of the impact of multiple small TF's in these situations - I had however not discussed any HR with my opponent - so when I ran the turn asn saw what had happened I pointed out that I was extremely unhappy and the gentleman that he is my opponent immedialty offered to redo the turn without single ship TF's as he hadnt realised how over powerfull they were in these situations - with hindsight my TF's were also too big and unwieldy - but as I said my opponent when he realised how lopsided the results had been immediatly offered to redo turn which we did the turn below is the second version where orders were changed

to be clear had the previous turn remained it would have been victory for the allies I would have carried on but it would have been total Allied victory from here - so I want to pay credit to my opponent for re doing the turn.

I lost 2 more BB's and Kaga after this turn so this turned it into an allied victory no question and I stopped my Tahiti Invasion I sank another fast BC but it was a tough month

With no torpedo hits in prior combats - just a few more DD shell hits? Was she already damaged?

The French DD's have 8 5.5inch and 6 Torpedos guns they are more like mini cruisers than DD's they are lethal I am slightly shocked how strong they were

On the turn before where 15 single ship TF's intercepted my fleet at night 12 of them DD's they devastated my TF's totally kicked arse stopped all my TF movement, sank numerous ships and damaged lots of others for no real damage to them

Fortunately my opponent instantly offered to redo the turn when I expressed my views on the turn outcome and how I viewed single ship TF's when dealing with two 100 ship+ fleets facing off as game breaking in engine terms

The engine simply does not deal well with that kind of situation as I said credit to my opponent for being a gentleman it was a tactic I had never even contemplated using !!!

The 3 ship variant above was bad enough !!!

WESTPAC

OK well I own the Line Islands Midway and Hawaii they are fortifying with strong garrisons but will be vulnerable to isolation later in the war so I am focussing on my garrisons for these bases and building minefields, forts and multiple supporting AF's

Lots to do but this theatre is now going 100% defensive other than as a submarine base.

CENTPAC

After the fiasco over the last few days and weeks goping to pull my horns back in and build up Tarawa and all bases north covered by multiple interlocking AF's again for now defensive theatre

SOPAC

Well I have half of New Cal and all bases from Luganville north the debate is whether I send another 100,000 troops and heavy surface assets to ensure that New Cal is mine - in all honesty I am not sure I can

SWPAC

PM is mine and all bases being built up maybe after the next phase is complete I can try something in this area not sure what but anything is possible

DEI

Palembang is still in enemy hands I couldnt afford to take it until the Java morass was finished - its now done and my should fall in a week or so
Tarakan same

One base remains on Timor not yet invested but again when my LCU's are freed from other assaults I will attack

PI

Clark Field and Bataan both still stand - no forts left but they remain strong and I think the Allies just sneaked 3 AK's worth of supplies in which is irritating

Malaya

Done

Burma

Major problem have not made a dent yet which is keeping the Burma road open recon says 300,000+ Allied troops in Burma this is now the critical theatre I need to release troops from other duties ready for a fight that will take most of 1942

China

A total stalemate I messed up b ignoring this theatre in the early days and I am paying for it now - I own the south/North and East he owns the road line from Changsa to Nanning and I have a siege to finish off at Wuchow

Fleet Status

I have 6 Fleet and 8 Light Carriers available each of the lights has 45 aircraft so actually very usefull also 8 CVE's

11 Battleships and 8 Battle Cruisers 29 heavy Cruisers 32 CL's and many destroyers

My fleet carriers are a little dinged up but can be put into operation quickly

In the next 3 months I get 2 CV (both Junyo class) and 2 CVL's (both 48 capacity)

So my losses from the recent battles will be made good I also get another Nagato class BB
