I have some screenshots, may post them here, if HM is ok with it (that's a "know-how" after all)?

Russia destroyed in 4 turns. Ah, what was your defense?

For them it's a choice between German bullets and ours, but there's another way; a way of courage, a way of love of the Motherland. We must publish the army newspaper again, we must tell magnificent stories, we must make them believe in a victory. We must give them hope.

Hm, "Enemy at the Gates" quote?

Russia's defense was dismantled at the 4th turn of invasion, in 09.1941 and Allies threw the towel. GG to my opponent.

Would love to see some AAR/screen shots if possible.

Here it is

So it has begun.

Marcinos1985 has picked the (Allies) vs ElvisJJonesRambo (Axis) - Gave him choice of sides, I like to be surprised. Took Axis on turn #1, went for Warsaw, nope, got the Corp defender down to 2 w/ double Panzers. Pulled back the Army in the Rhineland. No naval combat. Italians cannot tell you. Japs wax the usual Chinese Corp.

ELO game has ended

[WIN] ThundarLizard2 (Axis) defeats ElvisJJonesRambo (Allies)

Summary: Allies call in quits in November 1945. Moscow couldn't hold off the Level-5 Super Tanks anymore. Note to players, the second Moscow hex doesn't matter, the Reds called it quits the Southern Hex was take. Axis took the Southern Route to Urals first.

One of the tightest games possible. I don't think you could have a closer game than we just battle.

1) Germans bashed Poland/France/LowCountries
2) Germans Diplo Turkey
3) Brits take Libya, Tunisa, but only pinged Sicily with (Air/Naval bombardment)
4) The Middle East was a torn battlefield the entire game. Turkish forces with Top Luftwaffe took Iraq, came to the Red Sea. Later in game, Yanks entered Southern Turkey, freed Iraq in 1945.
5) 1943, the Allies had to help Russia, so x3 Paratroops + x2 Corp goto Northern France, July. Supertanks in Russia, had no choice.
6) 8-months of rain either on English/French spelled, dead paratroops, 1-corp sailed home
7) Frustrated from 8-months rain, went to Greece, with Yankee Tanks, no landing zones, impossible with 8-months rain.
8) American Tanks in Greece expelled by 2-Super Tanks. Couldn't even scratch their paint.
9) Americans land mini-force March 1944. Was going to get pushed immediately off, so I ran, no damage.
10) Rain finally stops in July 1944. Was able to get with 2-hexes of Paris in 1945. Massive Air Battles. Supplies always suck for Allies. Would put Dozens of attack on Supertanks, takes miracle to kill a unit
11) Russians went with Tank strategy, they did decent, holding until November 1945.
12) China captured Korea, Mancharuia, and almost all their land.
13) Manila Capture, Taiwan, Okinawa
14) Japan Nuked, August 1945
15) Japan still wouldn't surrender

Game over. Was close. Game was up for grabs. 1943 in the Western rain was the turning point. I shouldn't have gone to Greece, was so tired of waiting for clear skies.

Here is a gamey move I consider should be forbidden: Letting the partisan at your opponent's previous capital to spring up and take it back as capital (after it's isolated). This can cause serious damage to your opponent.

This is the only move so far I consider to be "gamey". All the other ones have their pros/cons and are debatable.

ELO game has ended

[WIN] Cpuncher (Axis) punches out ElvisJJonesRambo (Allies)

Summary: My worst French defeat in history. Germans take Paris in March. Opponent did the "Operand" move after Poland turn #1. French/British spent for Units/Tech, which is awful combo against this. I abandoned Egypt, he had that in July. Chinese were toast also.

When doing the "Operand Opening + Polish turn #1", if the weather is clear, huge momentum.

Weather is too much in this game.

Oh well, some early success snowballed into bigger and bigger success...

We finished this game in 3 days with 27 turns played. On the 1st day I played 6 turns and Elvis 5. All are records for me. Thanks for the game.

Hi oedi64,
Yes, I'm up for an ELO game. I'm an experienced wargamer too. Lots of time on the huge board game Drang Nach Osten in college (maybe too much, my grades suffered, haha). But I am relatively new to World at War (one MP game, this would be my second). I'm fine with either side. And, yes I can commit to at least one turn a day, usually more.

Would you like to set up a game? PM me with the password? Or I'm glad to set it up.

If anyone else is interested in a game, I can probably handle two World at War games at once. Please let me know.

The king is on a cold streak, just got bitch slapped in the mirror set by Cpuncher. Thought he was a punk, i got punked, too much gambling. Same strategy worked on intermediate players. Not so sure on a different advanced player. I need to brew a new pot of something.

Anybody out there?

What's up Taff, good to hear from you. Lets just go 1-game this time, you can pick sides. I've been trying new stuff, I always do. My latest bullsh-t didn't work on Cpuncher or ThundarLizard.

What side you want?

Off to the casino, gotta get some parlay in.

Bright light city gonna set my soul
Gonna set my soul on fire
Got a whole lot of money that's ready to burn,
So get those stakes up higher
There's a thousand pretty women waitin' out there
And they're all livin' devil may care
And I'm just the devil with love to spare
Viva Las Vegas, viva Las Vegas

ELO game has ended

[WIN] Marcinos1985 (Allies) beats ElvisJJonesRambo (Axis)

Summary: Being tired of watching the Italian Navy get ambushed, decided to teach England at any cost. Spent every MMP on Navy + troops for England. It was the most expensive Operation Sealion in history. Took the entire Island. Had to start from Manchester and a coastal landed NE of London. Was way to expensive. The Brits took advantage of weather & a long ground battle. In the process had to destroy nearly all the Royal Navy. The Fuhrer was quite happy, until July 1941. Looking to the East all that was available were 6 weak ground units and the Turks who were Diplo'ed into joining the cause.

Was a very fun game to play, despite the lost. I am to do more than Cookie Cutter. Since the Germans were determined to pound England and their colonies, can be a blast. We had a real Desert War Libya. Marcinos1985 put an excellent defense. I went spaz in Libya, since the Army was on England. Overextended a couple of turns, got swatted back.

I was holding the line from Poland down to Romania, until the might of the Red Army became to much. Marcinos1985 busted through Northern Romania after initially capturing Balta.

Summary: French won't surrender. Took Paris, killed plenty of units, it's July 1941. Kill more. Now it's October 1941. Forget it. French won't surrender, I do. All those extra turns had my HQ moved and taking more damage and fleet damage. This is couple times now French won't surrender.

Paris is not enough. After city falls, French still have around 10-20% NM (ceteris paribus). Still have to do some dmg to get 0%. Pressure another NM targets, like Lyon or Marseille, hunt french ships and you are golden.
