No more fights near Rabaul...disappointing. We do sink another lone destroyer with airpower though.

Losses.

The 13th JAAF Eng base force was on that xak, along with another without any escorts. I forgot to dispatch ASW TF from Bagel on approach. My bad.

Cape Gloucester is one hex east of Umboi. Lots of ships hiding in and around there. Why we have recon at Rabaul.

Dec 25th, 1941

Will be attacking Johore Bahru, pursuing into Singers, with an attack on singers most likely in two more days.

Found Leander disbanded in port, plus unknown ships to the west. I suspect several other dot bases has ships as well.

I always have appreciated just how dynamic Loka's early game moves were.

I really like that all in early push to hold Rabual. I can see that seriously tilting a player with lesser experience who neglects to send heavier assets.

Excellent move getting some of the fleet train set up at Manus - I'm a fairly recent convert to the power of the auxiliary ships and that is a much better idea than rotating all the way back to Truk to rearm.

That's Loka.

That's nearly as good as the time he bounced me out of Clark after a failed deliberate attack and made me wonder if I'd lose Manila in '42!

Moving along here, with less than daily updates to the AAR, so that I can run turns...

Allies building up Tabituea heavily, which is fine by me this early.

Moving on attacking Singapore and Ceylon...

Japan's goofy jump to the A6M8... should have 9 factories size 22 on it. Working hard on getting the engine bonus.

Why 22 factories each? Isn't 30 the conventional wisdom to get a point a day?

Yes it is but in that scenario, the Rufe comes in on 1 January, 1942.

Yes, but in this AndyMac updated/modded scenario 2 the Rufe starts production Jan 42...and 22 was all I could get before the clock ran out...given the amount of time I wanted to micromanage this.

5% already advanced...

OK, that makes sense! You only had 22 days to get those factories in place before Jan 1. 22 is better than 0, you'll have those planes in the first quarter of 1943, if my rough math is right

Quick look at A6M8 and the George. I have come to a working hypothesis that although the M8 is a horrible plane, for 1943 it might be the most important plane Japan has to research because it is the best CV capable fighter.

I have successfully used the 5c thru the whole game...and look forward to using the m8. Although the end of 42 might be painful...

We will find out in this game.
