I thought I turned off all Betty attacks near Luzon...but one squadron didn't get the orders and 14 or so Betties fly into CAP at Manilla...

But over Singers, most of the Allied fighters are at Singers...and our sweeps work very well so far.

Disappointing losing the Betties, and the IJN Destroyer got nailed by stringbeans...all the British planes attacked to the north and ignored the KB.

Ach, these things happen in the friction of war. Hate losing the pilots more than the planes, and of course you never, ever have enough DD's as IJN ...

Lots of bombing raids on Chinese troops, also lightly bombed Kunming, and bombarded Wenchow.

I like the progress so far...still 2 squadrons of Flying Tigers to worry about.

Turn finally finished, these early turns are simply are bear...

Really concentrating on trying to take ground quickly and avoiding losses to ships, less so with sinking low value ships. Mersing invasion is loading, Rabaul invasion is 3 days or so away.

For the most part resting a lot of the bombers this turn...

Manilla has 70 fighters and we will sweep with a large sentai of Zeroes while another rests.

Interesting to see Lok's playstyle...more comments on this next turn.

Previous fight they put two hits on a lone AS, and here they catch Pecos...heavy fires, heavy damage on both ships.

In the midst of the Thundering Herd, four American destroyers engage in a long range fight (no hits) with our little destroyer squadron....the Americans expend a lot of torpedoes and ammo without result.

Kudos to Adelaide...it catches two xakl off Kavieng and sinks them with their troops, and nails these two in the morning, but after they landed their troops...

It was a risk and I knew the chances were low of landing at Kavieng...but not much lost.
