Having won my first game of Shadow Empire on "Hard", and being disappointed at the level of resistance I faces, I decided to up the difficulty. Perhaps too much.

I started a new game on a Medusa world, covered in Jungles, on Extreme difficulty with a Nemesis opponent in the game. What could go wrong?

I of course, started right next to my Nemesis, and two Raider factions. I promptly disregarded the $200 Peace fee from the Raiders and set about trying to enlarge my territory.
Other things I disregarded:
-Worker Happiness (gotta save money!)
-Sensible Politics (How far can I get down the Authoritarian/Enforcement/Heart path?)
-Army Recruitment (People should join the army out of patriotism, not for money)
-Military Technology (Carbines and Enviro-suits were enough 30 turns ago, why not now?)
-Insufficient Recon (I've lost thousands of troops walking my units into jungle ambushes)
-Happiness of Subordinates (I'm on my second rebellion, but fortunately it's not my SHQ commander this time!)

Now before you critique, I wasn't trying to play optimally.
I was playing very quickly, and wanted to prove to myself that the game could throw real challenges at me.
...It can.

So here's my current situation:

At the ends of the Eastern and Western roads are large populations of Free Folk. These settlements were nearly depopulated a few turns ago, but somehow got an extra 10,000+ population increase.
I've withdrawn from the Western Road due to insufficient forces to hold back the invasion. I hope to hold the line at some low mountains.
The Eastern Road has been protected by a migration of some sort of Savages that my Enemy was not prepared for (and even lost a city! )

In the North, I have serious regrets about not paying $200 for peace when I controlled the Northern Ruins. I didn't realize I could be facing so many enemies!

My Secretary just rebelled against me, but fortunately, it was right next to my Armored forces (5 Tanks, 10 Recon)which had just dealt with another enemy incursion, so I don't expect the rebellion to survive long.

I've been investing in Armored forces in hopes to stop the casualties. I've been extremely lucky with my Buggy design:
It's actually tougher than my Light Tank!

However, my situation looks pretty serious. I'm running out of fuel to move my Vehicles, and I don't know if I'll be able to hold back the tide in the South-West while trying to regain lost ground in the north.
The situation doesn't seem impossible, but it is rather the challenge at the moment. Just as I had intended!

Any advice on how to proceed? It looks like I'm facing a war of attrition, with little chance for grand encirclements in the heavy forests.
Can my Buggies lead me to victory?
Are vehicles any use in the Jungle?
Should I invest in Artillery?
Maybe APCs are the way to go?

If anybody wants to take a look at this scenario, here's the save with the situation as depicted: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wBBQZ3_-ArCfGORGK-y78knz7yYkGpY2/view?usp=sharing

I'd go with artillery..
But you're probably too behind the nemesis ai now to be competitive (+2 citys)
