Type your message in the "Diplomatic Pouch" window that pops up at the end of your move.

You'll want to "truncate" the lines of your message
and type short lines
like this
because your message
will not "wrap" for
your opponent

If you don't want to use that,
exchange emails, or set up some sort of teamspeak
with your opponent
