Greetings fellow wargamers. I got SC:Europe on release, and played it a bit then, but eventually felt disappointed with the challenge from AI. I see there has been a fair amount of updates since I moved on, and I wonder if other gamers can share their thoughts on the current state of the game, before spending the amount of hours for a new game.

- What kind of settings would an experienced (but not super awesome) gamer need to use for a challenge playing as Germany?

- Is the Axis AI even capable of providing a threat vs a human player? If so, what kind of settings/bonuses are needed?

So the AI has not much changed since release. I'd play it on one notch higher settings than you last played it and see how you do!

Of course MP is a totally different experience, and if you find the AI too easy then check out the ELO tournament, the weaker players (eg me) will be a challenge, the stronger ones will annihilate you qith good grace. :)

Thanks, shame about AI, but it is what it is. Sadly, I can't reliablly set aside time for PBEMs these days. I was fairly active in AT:G PBEM many years ago, but times change. CK3 time then!

Give my mod a go, last time I played it I lost to the Allied AI. Link is in my signature. I recommend hard settings but with +1 Experience.

I would say the AI is much improved since release. It was updated for the WW1 game and these updates were then reverted to the other games in the series. Not to mention improvements to auto HQs and many other enhancements. You should definitely give it another go!
